摘要: A method and apparatus for masquerading the identity of a first communication device returning a missed call placed by a second communication device to a third communication device. The first communication device receives a missed call notification indicating the second communication device placed a first call to the third communication device. Thereafter, the first communication device initiates a second call to the second communication device and directs a network to deliver to the second communication device caller identification information that indicates the second call originates from the third communication device. Moreover, the first communication device may include a missed call log that includes missed call notifications for missed calls placed directly to the first communication device as well as missed call notifications for missed calls originally placed to another communication device. The first communication device can present to a user missed call notifications stored in the missed call log.

摘要: A method for setting up a call to a subscriber station. The method comprises, at a first telecommunications platform, receiving a first request to set up a call to a subscriber station. The first request is processed at a second telecommunications platform. The second platform provides a second request to set up the call to the subscriber station, where the second request includes a non-loop parameter. The second request is received at the first platform and the first platform responsively sends a service request including the non-loop parameter to a third telecommunications platform. The third platform detects the non-loop parameter and, in response to at least the non-loop parameter, directs the first platform to set up the call to the subscriber station.

摘要: A method and system for providing transcribed voice content in a human-readable format during an on-going teleconference is provided. In the method, a first terminal engages in an on-going teleconference with a second terminal. During the on-going teleconference, the second terminal is operable to communicate voice content. Sometime during the on-going teleconference, the first terminal may invoke a transcription service for transcribing the voice content into a human-readable notation. After being invoked, the transcription service transcribes the voice content into the human-readable notation and forwards it to the first terminal. After receiving the human-readable notation, the first terminal is operable to display the human-readable notation.

摘要: A method and system for controlled provisioning of a desired set of service logic for a subscriber of group of subscribers. In response to a designated stimulus, such as a time-event, a location-event or a threshold-event, a network entity modifies the subscriber profile maintained by a serving system, so as to include in the profile one or more desired parameters. One such modification may be the inclusion in the profile of a trigger that directs the serving system to query a designated network entity for call handling instructions. The designated network entity may then provide a special set of services for the subscriber or group. Further, a mechanism is provided to help ensure that once such a service overlay is imposed, it remains imposed if desired.

摘要: A method and system for monitoring telecommunications traffic is disclosed. When a switch receives a call request, the switch sends a query message to a service controller. The service controller identifies the call request as a request to place a special service call and therefore returns to the switch a special service code, which causes the switch to route the call via a special looparound circuit to a destination. A signaling path associated with the looparound circuit passes through a designated network entity, which can therefore monitor the start and end of the call. An SCP or other network entity can then take appropriate action in response to the status of the call. The invention is particularly useful in facilitating robust account balance service such as prepaid calling.

摘要: A method and system for reducing latency in initiation of a real-time data session between wireless communication stations. In order to initiate a session with one or more target parties, an originating station will send a voice call origination message to a network switch, providing in the origination message (i) a session-initiation feature code and (ii) a target code indicative of the one or more target parties. The switch will then detect the session-initiation feature code as an intelligent-network trigger and responsively signal to a service controller, which will in turn signal to a communication server. The communication server will then invite the originating station and each of the one or more target parties to participate in the session, setting up a conference leg with each and bridging the legs together to allow the session to proceed.

摘要: A system and method for carrying out a dynamic-routing service is provided. The system includes a service control point (“SCP”) that is operable to provide routing instructions for the plurality of subscriber terminals. And each of the plurality of subscriber terminals has a subscriber address and an associated call history. In carrying out a dynamic-routing service, the SCP receives a request for routing instructions for terminating a voice call to a call-subscriber address of the plurality of subscriber addresses. Responsively, the SCP selects from the plurality of subscriber addresses a delivery address for terminating the voice call to based on the call histories associated with the plurality of subscriber addresses. After selecting the delivery address, the SCP develops routing instructions for terminating the voice call to the delivery address, and then provides the routing instructions for terminating the voice call to the delivery address.
