摘要: The present invention relates to a method for measuring blood flow in living tissue and a device for performing the method. The device comprises a laser and a photo sensor. The laser is arranged to illuminate (10) the tissue in such a way that a portion of the light beam, scattered by the tissue, re-enters the laser in order to obtain a self-mixing effect. The resulting light, that is registered (11) as an electric signal by the photo sensor, contains a speckle pattern that is depending on blood cell movement in the tissue. A Fourier transform is applied (12) to this signal and an exponential fit is applied (13) to the resulting frequency domain spectrum. Thereby parameters corresponding to the amount of blood cells and the average velocity of these cells may be obtained.

摘要: A capacitive proximity device for sensing a presence and/or absence of an object in the proximity of an electronic device includes an emission electrode capacitively coupled to a receiver electrode, an oscillator for generating an emission-signal being an alternating electric field between the emission electrode and the receiving electrode, and a sensing circuit connected to the receiving electrode. The sensing circuit receives a measured-signal from the receiver electrode and includes a first synchronous detection circuit together with a low-pass filter for generating an output-signal being proportional to a distance between the object and the electronic device. The sensing circuit further includes a noise-suppresser for reducing noise from the measured-signal before entering the first synchronous detection circuit.

摘要: A system and method for location determination by laser interference detection uses a wide beamwidth laser projection (301) across a planar area (300). A lens system (222) is used to provide the wide beamwidth projection, and a split-beam system (225) is used to correlate interference patterns to particular segments of the wide beamwidth projection. The reflected interference beams are detected on a detector array (240) that is configured to detect the undulations corresponding to objects within the wide beamwidth projection.

摘要: A method is proposed for investigation of or ascertaining pulse or heartbeat. The method first comprises directing illuminating radiation to illuminate a body part such as a finger. The illuminating radiation is of a wavelength or wavelength band substantially in the blue light region of the light spectrum. Then, an optical speckle pattern of the illuminated body part resulting from the illumination of the body part is obtained and imaged. The optical speckle pattern is representative of the heartbeat and by correlation of frames extracted from the speckle pattern, the pulse or beat extent of the body part may be ascertained.

摘要: A pulsed radiation beam is directed toward a body structure having a configuration or physical characteristic that changes over time, the radiation being pulsed at a pulse modulation frequency. A detector detects acoustic oscillations set up in the body resultant from the incident pulsed radiation and produces an output signal representative of one or more parameters of the acoustic oscillations. A control system controls operation of the radiation delivery and a processor to process the detector output signal. The pulse modulation frequency of the pulsed radiation is changed over a predetermined range of modulation frequencies and the processor determines the structure resonant frequency from the detector output.

摘要: A relative movement sensor for measuring movement of an object (15) and the sensor relative to each other, the sensor comprising a plurality of lasers (3,5) for generating respective measuring beams and illuminating the object (15) therewith, and a plurality of respective photodiodes (4,6) for measuring changes in operation of each laser cavity caused by reflected measuring beam radiation re-entering the respective laser cavity and the optical wave in the laser cavity. The plurality of lasers (3,5) are operated in a time-multiplexed manner such that only a subset (i.e. one or more) of the lasers is operated at any one time, the remaining lasers being idle. This reduces peak power dissipation and prevents erroneous interference caused by measuring beam radiation from one laser entering the cavity of another laser.

摘要: Sweat ducts present on finger prints can be used in biometric identification or authentication systems as a differentiating or corroborating biometric feature. In addition, the activity of sweat ducts can be seen as a proof of liveness. By stimulating an object such as a finger by blowing air over the skin surface, it is possible to evoke sweat from the sweat ducts. The presence of these small droplets of sweat on the skin surface can be used to locate the position of sweat ducts, using either a spatial or temporal analysis of images of the skin surface. In addition, a temporal analysis can highlight sweat duct activity, which in turn can be used as a proof of liveness.

摘要: A marker structure on a substrate includes line elements and trench elements, the line elements and trench elements each having a length in a first direction and being arranged in an alternating repetitive sequence in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, the alternating repetitive sequence having a sequence length, the marker structure having at least one pitch value, the at least one pitch value being the sum of a line width of one line element and a trench width of one trench element. A width of the line elements varies over the sequence length of the marker structure between a minimum line width value and a maximum line width value, while a width of the trench elements likewise varies over the sequence length of the marker structure between a minimum trench width value and a maximum trench width value. A duty cycle of a pair of a line element and an adjacent trench element is substantially constant over the sequence length of the marker structure. Thus, the pitch value varies from a minimum pitch value to a maximum pitch value over the sequence length.
