Abstract: An electronic musical instrument includes a plurality of performance elements that specify pitch data; a sound source that produces musical sounds; and a processor configured to perform the following: when a user performance of the plurality of performance elements satisfies a prescribed condition, instructing the sound source to produce automatic arpeggio playing sounds corresponding to pitch data specified by the user performance; and when the user performance of the plurality of performance elements does not satisfy the prescribed condition, instructing the sound source to produce a sound of a pitch data specified by the user performance without producing the automatic arpeggio playing sound.

Abstract: When an instruction is provided for changing a characteristic of a set filter which includes a plurality of partial filters and forms a specified characteristic by combining a plurality of partial filters, a processor performs, as crossfading processing for a first filter and a second filter among the plurality of partial filters, fade-out processing of gradually decreasing a degree of contribution of the first filter to the characteristic and fade-in processing of gradually increasing a degree of contribution of the second filter to the characteristic. As a result, unnaturalness occurring at the time of changing filter characteristics is solved.

Abstract: A musical sound generation device including a first memory having a plurality of waveform data, a second memory which stores waveform data read out from the first memory, and a control processor which controls such that, when a sound emission instruction is provided and specified waveform data is in the second memory, the waveform data is read out by the sound source processor, or controls such that, when a sound emission instruction is provided and specified waveform data is not in the second memory, the specified waveform data is transferred from the first memory to the second memory and read out by the sound source processor, in which the control processor controls such that waveform data satisfying a set condition is not subjected to a waveform data change by the transfer and waveform data not satisfying the set condition is subjected to the waveform data change by the transfer.

Abstract: A delay time counter in a DSP cyclically counts a sampling clock from zero to a delay time sampling count and issues a delay time interrupt to a CPU each time the sampling clock count reaches the delay time sampling count. The CPU measures a time difference between each time the DSP issues the delay time interrupt and each time sequence clock interrupts occur a number of times corresponding to the delay time. Then, in order to reduce this time difference, the CPU increases or decreases a maximum count that is set to the sequence clock counter. Therefore, in the next delay process, the shift between the time by which the automatic performance is advanced by the CPU (which is equal to the delay time) and the timing of the delay process executed by the DSP (which is also equal in length to the delay time) will be corrected.
