摘要: [Problem] To provide an arpeggiator enabling musically natural arpeggio playing to be achieved, and a program comprising a function therefor. [Solution] In the present invention, a synthesizer 1 resets the number of octaves in an octave counter memory 12d to zero at the beginning of each bar when an octave reset function is on. Due to this configuration, sounds generated at the beginning of each bar, that is, when the step count is 0, all have the same note number. Consequently, a sound generation timing-based cycle of an arpeggio pattern of each bar can be synchronized with a pitch variation-based cycle, making it possible to give a listener the impression that a consistent phrase is being played.

摘要: A new type of Markovian sequence generator and generation method generates a Markovian sequence having controllable properties, notably properties that satisfy at least one control criterion which is a computable requirement holding on items in the sequence. The Markovian sequence is generated chunkwise, each chunk containing a plurality of items in the sequence. During generation of each chunk a search is performed in the space of Markovian sequences to find a chunk-sized series of items which enables the control criterion to be satisfied. The search can be performed using a generate and test approach in which chunk-sized Markovian sequences are generated then tested for compliance with the requirement(s) of the control criteria. Alternatively, the search can be performed by formulating the sequence-generation task as a constraint satisfaction problem, with one or more constraints ensuring that the generated sequence is Markovian and one or more constraints enforcing the requirement(s) of the control criteria. The sequence generator can be used in an interactive system where a user specifies the control criterion via an inputting device (20).

摘要: An automatic accompaniment apparatus which has an auto-bass circuit and an auto-arpeggio circuit. In the auto-bass circuit, note information concerning one kind of code is stored in a memory (ROM), and a code signal is detected from depressed key information in a code detector, and in a note converter a note signal from the memory is converted by the code signal to a note signal corresponding to the kind of code, whereby note signals of various kinds of codes are generated. In the auto-arpeggio circuit, note information concerning one kind of code is stored in a memory (ROM), and a code signal is detected from depressed key information in a code detector, and in a note converter a note signal from the memory is converted by the code signal to a note signal corresponding to the kind of code. The note signal is added with a root signal from the code detector, and by the added output, a scale signal is selectively obtained, which scale signal is frequency divided by an octave signal from the memory. Thus, various kinds of codes ranging over several octaves are obtained.

摘要: An accompaniment system for an electronic musical instrument is selectively actuatable for producing accompaniment effects such as arpeggio in accordance with selectable notes or chords and with selectable rhythm patterns. The electronic musical instrument includes one or more conventional keyboards, a set of chord switches for selecting one of a plurality of predetermined chords and a set of rhythm switches for selecting one of a plurality of predetermined rhythm patterns, respectively. The accompaniment system includes a ROM containing note position signals arranged in a plurality of groups, each group corresponding to one of the selectable rhythm patterns. An electronic circuit selects one of the groups in response to activation of one of the rhythm pattern selector switches and sequentially combines each note position signal in the group with a chord displacement signal developed in response to actuation of one of the keyboard notes or chord selection switches. The electronic circuit then produces electronic signals corresponding to selected notes of the chromatic scale in accordance with the selected note or chord and rhythm pattern. The ROM further contains a note decay characteristic control signal associated with each of the note signals. The accompaniment system also includes another electronic circuit responsive to the electronic note signals and their associated note decay signals for directing the electronic musical instrument to sound notes to produce an accompaniment effect in accordance with the selected note or chord, with the selected rhythm pattern and with the predetermined decay characteristics of each note.

摘要: A method including receiving a first set of performance data corresponding to a first plurality of MIDI-based notes in a first rhythmic order. The first plurality of MIDI-based notes may form a first arpeggio, with each of the first plurality of notes having a corresponding first performance data. The method further includes receiving input data indicating a change to the first performance data corresponding to a note in the first plurality of notes, changing the first performance data for the corresponding note using the input data, receiving a second set of performance data corresponding to a second plurality of MIDI-based notes, and applying the changed first performance data to the second performance data. Applying the first changed performance data includes editing the second set of performance data in real-time by replacing the second performance data with the changed first performance data.

摘要: An electronic musical instrument includes an array of electrical switches (transducers) aligned on the body of the instrument and configured to provide a desired instrument layout, and to provide tactile feedback for playing, while having different playing functions. A suitable material overlying the switch array can provide the physical appearance and configuration for the desired instrument layout. For example, a subset of the array switches can be used for a fretting area, in which the overlay material provides multiple “strings” for fretting, and a different subset of the array switches can be used for a strumming area, in which the overlay material supports a strumming action. If desired, an additional subset of the array switches can be designated for additional effects, such as a sensor area.

摘要: An initial note series is collected from a real-time source of musical input material such as a keyboard or a sequencer playing back musical data, or extracted from musical data stored in memory. The initial note series may be altered to create variations of the initial note series using various mathematical operations. The resulting altered note series, or other data stored in memory is read out according to one or more patterns. The patterns may have steps containing pools of independently selectable items from which random selections are made. A pseudo-random number generator is employed to perform the random selections during processing, where the random sequences thereby generated have the ability to be repeated at specific musical intervals. The resulting musical effect may additionally incorporate a repeated effect, or a repeated effect can be independently performed from input notes in the musical input material. The repeated notes are generated according to one or more patterns, which may also have steps containing pools of random selections. A duration control means is used to avoid polyphony problems and provide novel effects. Pitch-bending effects may be additionally generated as part of the musical effect, or can be independently performed. A sliding control window may be utilized to achieve accurate and realistic pitch-bending effects. This method and the apparatus that can perform such a method have application to music and other data in general as well.
