Abstract: Embodiments are presented for collaborative device address generation between a wireless client device and a network infrastructure component, such as a wireless access point. The wireless client device and network infrastructure component share information to facilitate collaborative generation of a sequence of device addresses. This shared information includes, in some embodiments, key information and moving factor information. The key information and moving factor information is used to generate a token. A sequence of tokens is generated by updating the moving factor as each token is generated. A corresponding sequence of device addresses are then derived based on the sequence of tokens. Since the wireless client device and the network infrastructure device apply equivalent methods to generate respective sequences of addresses, the network infrastructure is able to efficiently identify a source wireless client device when observing a new device address on a wireless network.

Abstract: A method is provided to anonymize the media access control (MAC) address of a client device. The method involves generating a plurality of media access control (MAC) addresses for use by a client device in a network. Policies are defined that determine which one of the plurality of MAC addresses is to be used by the client device. The plurality of MAC addresses allocated for use by the client device are registered with a management entity in the network.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein for providing radio resource ownership indicators in charging records for a charging function. In one example, a method may include determining, by a session management node of a mobile network, that a user equipment is utilizing a particular radio resource of a mobile network resource for a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session of the user equipment, wherein the mobile network resource is capable of being utilized via a plurality of radio resources and the particular radio resources is associated with an enterprise entity; and reporting charging information for the PDU session of the user equipment to a charging function of the mobile network to facilitate storing a charging record for the user equipment that is to include an identifier of the enterprise entity that is associated with the particular radio resource.

Abstract: A controller of a macro wireless network provisions a user device for access to local private networks based on the cell that the user device uses to attach to the macro wireless network. The controller obtains information on private networks operating within a coverage area of the macro wireless network. The controller associates a particular cell of the macro wireless network with one or more private networks operating within the particular cell. The controller detects a user device in the particular cell and provisions the user device with access to the one or more private networks.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for operator specific customization of a network service configuration. In some embodiments, an operator defines a mapping between an application executing on a user equipment (UE) and a network service configuration. In some embodiments, the network service configuration indicates whether the application is to be supported via a UPF instance located within the core network or deployed at a network edge. The mapping is then provided to the UE, and passed back to the core network, for example, when the UE establishes a connection on behalf of the UE application. The core network then supports the UE application consistent with the configuration specified by the mapping.

Abstract: Presented herein are techniques to facilitate enforcing unique handover trigger thresholds for user equipment (UE) based on UE identity and/or UE group type. In one instance, a method is provided that may include provisioning a plurality of handover profiles for a plurality of user equipment for a mobile network in which each corresponding handover profile includes a profile identifier and one or more handover thresholds. The method may further include determining that a particular user equipment seeks a connection to the mobile network; identifying a particular handover profile for the particular user equipment, wherein the particular handover profile includes a particular profile identifier; providing the particular profile identifier to a radio access network node of the mobile network; identifying one or more particular handover thresholds for the particular user equipment based on the particular profile identifier; and providing one or more particular handover thresholds to the particular user equipment.

Abstract: In one illustrative example, a user plane function (UPF) node may receive, from a controller node, a configuration of an allocated bandwidth for a predefined service classification associated with different predefined types of a communication resource at the UPF node, for each one of a plurality of different predefined service classifications associated with different predefined types of the communication resource. The UPF node may monitor a total bandwidth usage for each predefined service classification. Based on identifying that the total bandwidth usage exceeds a threshold limit, the UPF node may send, to the controller node, a message which indicates a request for readjusting the allocated bandwidth for the predefined service classification, and indicating the total bandwidth usage. The different predefined types of the communication resource may be different network slices at the UPF node, or different Quality of Service (QoS) Flow resource types at the UPF node, as examples.

Abstract: Techniques for utilizing an extensible authentication protocol (EAP) to interwork with a cloud-based identity provider supporting OAuth based authentication and authorization interfaces. An access network may be accessible by a user device interacting with a service provider network configured to securely transmit encrypted credentials from the user device, over EAP, and relay the encrypted credentials to a cloud-based authorization server, using a backchannel over hypertext transfer protocol secure (HTTPS) via OAuth, for authorization and authentication of the user device to access the access network. The network may be configured as a public wireless network, a private wireless network, a public cellular network, a private cellular network, and/or an OpenRoaming Network.
