摘要： A device for measuring a waist of an individual. The inventive device includes a main body having a measuring loop coupled to a first end thereof. A portion of the measuring loop is biased into the main body by a spring for storage to preclude unintentional engagement with surrounding objects and includes an indicator projecting from the main body such that a waist of a child can be measured to select an appropriate diaper size within a store. The device can additionally be utilized for simply estimating a circumference of a portion or waist of a human body absent an actual positioning of the portion of the human body thereinto.

摘要： An indoor sink faucet is claimed that is adapted for both human and pet use. The faucet substantially resembles a conventional human faucet, but includes integrated features that allow a pet to activate a flow of water and drink therefrom. Pet and human water can be dispensed from the same or separate outlets. Pet water can be mechanically activated, using for example a lever protruding from the pet water outlet. In other embodiments, the pet valve actuator uses a remote sensor to detect a pet using infra-red light, microwaves, or similar means. A timer can allow pet water to flow after actuation for a period that can be adjustable by a user. A flow sensor can prevent pet water flow when human water is flowing. And a training mode selector can cause pet water to flow continuously, thereby allowing a pet to learn how to use the faucet.

摘要： An energy diffusing pad insertable within a glove. The pad includes a resilient material having a first and a second surface, and a front and rear portion. The first surface is positionable against a user's palm such that when the pad is aligned over the user's palm, the first surface of the cushion contacts at least the thenar and hypothenar eminences of a user's palm while not contacting the user's Median and Ulnar neurovascular bundles. The glove may include a pouch to retain the pad while in use. When in use, the pad is positioned over the user's palm, where the pad forms a bridge over the raised, bony thenar and hypothenar eminences of a user's palm. The pad diffuses the pressure of the grasped object away from the region between the thenar and hypothenar eminences, thus protecting the Median and Ulnar neurovascular bundles. A cushioned insert may be included within a portion of the pad to provide additional cushioning and protection of the Median and Ulnar nerves.
