    摘要: A measurement tool for circumference includes at least one disk with a circumference thereof provided with a through hole; a straightedge provided with a fixed post and a plurality of scales, and the fixed post penetrates through the through hole to fix the disk to the fixed post; and a hitching line with one end thereof penetrated by the fixed post, and the other end of the hitching line surrounds the disk or straightens along the straightedge. Thus, a string makes a circle around the circumference, whereby the string is marked an index corresponding to the fixed post, and then the string straightens along the straightedge, and a length of the circumference of the disk is obtained according to relative positions of the scales and the index.

    摘要: A physical measuring tool comprising one or more members for determining the correct length of stock of various shapes of a given thickness and width range required to form various enclosed shapes with predetermined internal dimensions. One embodiment is an easy to use enclosed shape measuring tool that allows jewelers to fabricate rings of various widths from stock with great precision and fit without costly revision, as the measurements it makes are calibrated to the proportional relation among the thickness, length, width of material, and finished fit of ring. Each measuring element includes a raised fence for bracing material against to maximize measurement accuracy, and other convenient elements such as a thickness-measuring member. Such a tool replaces mathematical calculations and charts for determining the ratio among length and thickness of stock, and width and interior dimensions of enclosed shapes representing a significant time and resource saver for fabricators.

    摘要: A method for making beaded jewelry is provided. The method utilizes a megaphone shaped device having a small diameter first end and a larger diameter second end. The circumference of the first end is that of one part of the human body, such as a child's wrist. The circumference of the second end is the size of another part of the human body, such as an adult ankle. Markings on the girth of the device sequentially graduate in circumference and define graduated bracelet, anklet and other jewelry sizes. When one is making a bracelet or other article of jewelry of strung beads, the diameter of the beads affects the finished length of the article. Use of the device takes into account the diameters of the beads and thereby ensures that the finished item of beaded jewelry will fit the intended wearer.

    摘要: An adjustable gage comprises a centerline hub and a swing gage. The hub includes a body with position jaws adjustably attached thereto, and a central post. The gage comprises a pair of parallel slide bars and front and rear blocks slidable along the slide bars. A movable, spring-biased probe is slidably connected to the front block via a rail and carriage bearing apparatus. The probe is operably connected to a probe-movement indicator. The rear block has a fixed probe. Both probes have end roller bearings. In use, the part to be measured is placed within the position jaws, previously adjusted to the approximate inner or outer diameter of the part. Then, the gage is placed over the post, with the roller bearings coming into contact with the part, and the gage is rotated. The probes track along the part, with any variances in part diameter showing up on the indicator.

    摘要: Apparatus 10 for measuring the head of a horse 12 incorporates various components, such as cheek straps 14, each of which is movable (slidable) relative to another component in order to produce an overall desired fit of the apparatus 10, which is generally in the form of a bridle, to the head 12. Once the desired fit has been achieved, windows 16 and numerals 18 allow measurements to be taken, indicating the relative positions of the slidable components. These measurements may give direct measurements of the lengths required of various components of the bridle to be made, or may be other measurements from which strap lengths can be deduced. The apparatus 10 generally resembles the bridle which will be constructed, and thus allows the user to ensure a good fit to a particular head (which is partly an aesthetic judgement, and partly based on measurement and experience), so that a bridle can then be made with reasonable confidence that it will be a good fit.
