Abstract:
A method of handling signaling congestion for a machine type communication (MTC) device and/or a MTC server in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The method comprises receiving system information from a network; and stopping a triggering operation in a communication window according to the system information, wherein the system information indicates occurrence of a signaling congestion situation in the network.
Abstract:
A timer configuration method for a core network in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The timer configuration method comprises receiving a mobility management request from a mobile device; and setting a mobile reachable timer to a value no less than a back-off timer value when the core network rejects the mobility management request with the back-off timer value.
Abstract:
Systems and methods to support coexistence of multi-connectivity functions in 3GPP network and non-3GPP networks for UEs and to provide traffic routing policies and coordinate with ATSSS operation in 5GS are described. The AF subscribes to a registration-state notification event. A report is sent to the AF from the PCF or NEF. The report indicates a current registration state of a UE and is triggered when the registration state of the UE changes. The report may be sent with or without PDU session information, the former of which may be based on a determination by the AMF or the SMF. Traffic steering is enforced by the MAMS among multiple IP sessions coordinated via a single or a multiple PDU sessions in the 3GPP network.
Abstract:
A mobile communication device with a wireless module and a controller module is provided. The wireless module performs wireless transceiving to and from a first service network and a second service network. The controller module transmits a first request message for a Mobility Management (MM) procedure to the first service network, and receives a first rejection message with an MM back-off timer corresponding to the first request message from the first service network via the wireless module. Also, the controller module starts the MM back-off timer for the first service network in response to the first rejection message, and transmits a second request message for the MM procedure to the second service network via the wireless module.
Abstract:
MTC event monitoring methods and the network servers thereof. The MTC event monitoring method comprises configuring, by the network server, a detection sensitivity threshold, determining, by the network server, an MTC event at an MTC device and an associated detection sensitivity parameter, and reporting, by the network server, the MTC event to an MTC server only when the associated detection sensitivity parameter equals to or exceeds the detection sensitivity threshold.
Abstract:
A method of handling quarries caused overload in a core network of a wireless communication is disclosed. The core network comprises a data base and a network control node which stores a mobility management (MM) context of a mobile device. The method comprises the network node sending information in a notification message to the data base, wherein the information comprises at least one of International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI), UE Reachability Request Parameter for the MME/SGSN (URRP-MME/URRP-SGSN), and a session management (SM) and/or mobility management (MM) back-off timer or a back-off indicator.
Abstract:
A method of initiating a service with an access point name (APN) of a wireless communication system for a mobile device in the wireless communication system is disclosed. The mobile device has a plurality of connections with the APN. The method comprises disconnecting at least one first connection of the plurality of connections from the APN, wherein the mobile device keeps at least one second connection of the plurality of connections connected; and initiating the service with the APN, after disconnecting the at least one first connection from the APN; wherein the APN is congested or overloaded.

Abstract:
An apparatus and system for enabling secure access for services provided by IoT Devices in 5G network are described. To provide secure access to an application running on a personal internet of things (IoT) network (PIN) device through another PIN device that acts as an evolved residential gateway (eRG). The registration of a user profile and user identity are described, as are procedures for authentication of the PIN device and the offered services and updating of user profiles, and support for the PIN device and UE gateways.
Abstract:
A method of handling an access network discovery and selection function (ANDSF) for a network of a wireless communication system is disclosed. The method comprises determining a first plurality of closed subscriber group (CSG) cells of the wireless communication system with a first CSG identity, for a mobile device of the wireless communication system to communicate with an evolved packet core (EPC) network of the wireless communication system via the first plurality of CSG cells, after the network determines the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) as an access technology for the mobile device; and configuring an inter-system mobility policy (ISMP) node such that a value of an AccessTechnology leaf of a PrioritizedAccess node is configured as the 3GPP, and a value of a first AccessId leaf of the PrioritizedAccess node is configured as the first CSG identity of the first plurality of CSG cells.
