Abstract: A distributed base station radio system includes a first radio head configured to: communicate first analog radio frequency signals in a first radio frequency band with a first subscriber unit; convert between the first analog radio frequency signals in the first radio frequency band and a first digital broadband signal through at least one of frequency conversion and analog to digital conversion; a first broadband to channelized conversion unit communicatively coupled to the first radio head and configured to communicate the first digital broadband signal with the first broadband to channelized conversion unit; wherein the first broadband to channelized conversion unit is further configured to: communicate the first digital broadband signal; convert between the first digital broadband signal and first digital channelized data for the first radio frequency band; and communicate the first digital channelized data for the first radio frequency band with a first channelized radio frequency interface.

Abstract: A signal interface unit for a distributed antenna system (DAS) includes a channelized radio carrier interface configured to receive a downlink channelized radio carrier for a radio frequency carrier from a channelized radio carrier base station interface; an antenna side interface configured to communicate a downlink digitized radio frequency signal from the antenna side interface to the DAS communicatively coupled to the antenna side interface; and a signal conversion module communicatively coupled between the channelized radio carrier interface and the antenna side interface and configured to convert between the downlink channelized radio carrier and the downlink digitized radio frequency signal at least in part by adjusting at least one downlink attribute of the downlink digitized radio frequency signal communicated to the DAS based on requirements of the channelized radio carrier base station interface to cause the DAS to appear as a remote radio head to the channelized radio carrier interface.

Abstract: A modular wireless communications platform is provided. The modular wireless communications platform has a modular host unit and a modular remote unit in communication with the modular host unit. The modular host unit and remote unit include a serial radio frequency communicator configured to convert serial digital data into RF sampled data and configured to convert RF sampled data into serial digital data. Abstract: One embodiment is directed towards a distributed antenna system (DAS). The DAS includes a host unit a plurality of remote units communicatively coupled to the host unit. The plurality of remote units are configured to implement a common arrangement of resource blocks for uplink transport signals. The host unit is configured to instruct a subset of the plurality of remote units to send a digital sample stream over a monitor path of their respective uplink transport signals. One or more simulcast modules are configured to sum the monitor paths from the respective uplink transport signals to generate a summed digital sample stream, the one or more simulcast modules configured to send the summed digital sample stream to the host unit. The host unit is configured to provide a signal based on the summed digital sample stream to one or more signal analysis modules

Abstract: A signal interface unit for a distributed antenna system includes a channelized radio carrier interface configured to communicate an uplink channelized radio carrier for a radio frequency carrier to a channelized radio carrier base station interface; an antenna side interface configured to receive an uplink digitized radio frequency signal from the distributed antenna system communicatively coupled to the antenna side interface, wherein the uplink digitized radio frequency signal includes baseband data having bits; and a signal conversion module communicatively coupled between the channelized radio carrier interface and the antenna side interface and configured to convert between the uplink digitized radio frequency signal and the uplink channelized radio carrier at least in part by performing an adjustment of the bits included in the baseband data for the uplink digitized radio frequency signal received from the distributed antenna system to comply with requirements of the channelized radio carrier base station interface.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a remote antenna unit includes a transmitter, a receiver, an antenna array, and first and second interference circuits. The transmitter is configured to generate at least one transmit signal, and the receiver is configured to process at least one receive signal. The antenna array includes one or more antennas, each of at least one of the one or more antennas coupled to the transmitter and configured to radiate a respective downlink signal in response to a respective one of the at least one transmit signal, and each of at least one of the one or more antennas coupled to the receiver and configured to generate a respective one of the at least one receive signal in response to an uplink signal. And the first and second interference circuits are each coupled to the transmitter and to the receiver and are each configured to reduce interference in each of the at least one receive signal.

Abstract: A distributed antenna system (DAS) includes: signal interface units to receive downlink asynchronous radio carrier signals for radio frequency carriers from external device(s), each having a different clock, the signal interface units configured to: re-clock the downlink asynchronous radio carrier signals to a master clock of the DAS and convert the downlink asynchronous radio carrier signals to downlink digital signals; a host unit communicatively coupled to signal interface units and configured to combine at least two downlink digital signals into an aggregate downlink digital signal; an antenna unit coupled to the host unit and configured to: receive the aggregate downlink digital signal from the host unit, convert the aggregate downlink digital signal(s) and/or another signal based on the aggregate downlink digital signal into downlink radio frequency signals, and wirelessly transmit downlink radio frequency signals to a subscriber unit.

First channelized to broadband conversion unit converts first downlink channelized data into a first downlink broadband signal. First channelized to broadband conversion unit communicates the first downlink broadband signal to first universal remote radio head. First universal remote radio head receives first downlink broadband signal. First universal remote radio head frequency converts the first downlink broadband signal into first downlink radio frequency signals in first radio frequency band. First universal remote radio head is further configured to transmit first downlink radio frequency signals in first radio frequency band to first subscriber unit.
