    Abstract: A rotating electric machine includes a multi-phase armature coil wound on an armature core. The armature coil is formed of electrical conductor groups each being a bundle of electrical conductor segments and having a pair of leg portions and a connecting portion that connects the leg portions. The connecting portion is bent radially with respect to a circumferential direction. The electrical conductor groups are paired such that each pair of the electrical conductor groups consists of a first electrical conductor group and a second electrical conductor group both belonging to a same phase of the armature coil. The circumferential pitch between the leg portions of the first electrical conductor group is greater than that between the leg portions of the second electrical conductor group. In each pair of the electrical conductor groups, the connecting portions of the first and second electrical conductor groups are arranged to axially overlap each other.

    Abstract: A stator includes a stator core having slots, a stator coil comprised of three phase windings, phase busbars each electrically connecting a corresponding one of the phase windings to an inverter, and a neutral busbar star-connecting the phase windings to define a neutral point therebetween. In each of the slots of the stator core, there are arranged K in-slot portions of the phase windings of the stator coil in K layers so as to be radially aligned with each other, where K is an even number. The phase and neutral busbars are electrically connected with those in-slot portions of the phase windings of the stator coil which are arranged at the radially outermost layer or the radially innermost layer in the respective slots of the stator core so as to be circumferentially spaced from one another by M slot-pitches or more, where M is a slot multiplier number.

    Abstract: A stator includes an annular stator core having slots arranged in a circumferential direction thereof and a stator coil comprised of phase windings. Each of the phase windings includes in-slot portions, each of which is received in one of the slots of the stator core, and turn portions each of winch is located outside the slots to connect one pair of the in-slot portions. Each of the turn portions includes an apex part that is furthest in the turn portion from an axial end face of the stator core and extends in the circumferential direction of the stator core. There are circumferentially-adjacent pairs of the turn portions over the entire circumferential range of the stator coil. For each of the circumferentially-adjacent pairs of the turn portions, the apex parts of the circumferentially-adjacent pair of the turn portions overlap each other in an axial direction of the stator core.

    Abstract: In a stator of a rotating electric machine, an annular stator core has slots. A stator winding includes phase windings of three phases of differing electrical phases that are housed in the slots and wound around the stator core. Three phase bus bars electrically connect the respective phase windings to an external apparatus. Each of the phase windings are configured by multiple parallel windings. The phase bus bars are integrated with a fixing member to form a bus bar module. Each of the phase bus bars include branch portions and a trunk portion. The branch portions are electrically connected to the respective phase windings. The trunk portion electrically connects together the branch portions, and is configured that a cross-sectional area of an end portion closest to the phase winding is smaller than a cross-sectional area of an end portion closest to the external apparatus.

    Abstract: A stator core with a plurality of slots circumferentially arranged therearound has a stator winding including three (UVW) phase windings, each phase winding having 4n parallel windings. The stator winding is formed of U-shaped conductor segments inserted in the slots from one axial end, a pair of open end portions of each conductor segment extending axially from of the stator core and being bent toward circumferentially opposite directions, the bent portions being star connected together. The plurality of slots have, for each phase winding, pairs of circumferentially adjacent slots, each slot having an even number of slot-received portions of the phase winding radially aligned in a column, and for each circumferential slot pairs, the slot-received portion in an m-th layer of each slot of the pair is electrically connected to the portion inserted in an (m+1)-th layer of a slot of a circumferentially adjacent slot.

    Abstract: An armature which radially faces a magnetic field-producing unit equipped with a magnet unit having a plurality of magnetic poles includes a housing, an armature core, a multi-phase armature winding, and bus bars. The housing includes a cylinder and a disc-shaped end plate placed in contact with one of axially opposed ends of the cylinder. The armature core is disposed on a portion of the cylinder which radially faces the magnet unit. The armature winding is disposed on a portion of the armature core which radially faces the magnet unit. The bus bars electrically connect phase windings of the armature winding together. The armature also includes a bus bar module which is of a circular or C-shape extending along the circumference of the armature core. The bus bar module is secured to the cylinder, the end plate, or one of axially opposed ends of the armature core.

    Abstract: The rotating electric machine includes a stator having a stator winding and a rotor facing the stator in a radial direction. The rotor includes a carrier having a disk-shaped end plate section fixed to a rotating shaft and arranged coaxially with the rotating shaft, and an annular magnet unit arranged coaxially with the rotating shaft. The magnet has a cylindrical magnet holder whose one end in an axial direction is fixed to the end plate section, and a magnet fixed to a peripheral surface on a stator side in the radial direction in the magnet holder and having an alternating polarity in a circumferential direction. The magnet holder is made of a non-magnetic material. In the magnet, an orientation of an axis of easy magnetization on a q-axis is deviated from an orientation parallel to the q-axis.

    Abstract: A rotating electric machine includes a field system having a magnet section and an armature having a multi-phase armature coil. The magnet section has easy axes of magnetization oriented to be more parallel to a d-axis at locations closer to the d-axis than at locations closer to a q-axis. There are no inter-conductor members provided between electrical conductor sections of the armature coil. The armature coil includes a plurality of phase windings each of which is constituted of a plurality of partial windings. Each of the partial windings is formed of an electrical conductor that is multiply wound in the electrical conductor sections of the same phase. In each of the phase windings, the partial windings are connected in parallel with each other.

    Abstract: A stator includes an annular stator core, a stator winding, and an insulating sheet member. In the stator core, slots are circumferentially arrayed. The stator winding includes conductor segments having oblique portions formed by open end portions being circumferentially twisted. The open end portions are inserted into the slots from one of two axial-direction sides and extend towards another one. The insulating sheet member is interposed between an inner wall surface of the slot and the conductor segment. The insulating sheet member is rolled into a cylindrical shape along the inner wall surface of the slot, and includes an overlapping portion and a slack portion. In the overlapping portion, two circumferential-direction end portions overlap each other. The overlapping portion is disposed on one of two radial-direction sides of each of the slots. The slack portion is disposed on another one of two radial-direction sides of each of the slots.

    Abstract: A stator includes a stator core having slots arranged in a circumferential direction thereof at a predetermined pitch and a stator coil comprised of phase windings. Each of the phase windings is configured with an electric conductor and an insulating coat covering the electric conductor. Each of the phase windings includes in-slot portions and turn portions connecting the in-slot portions. The turn portions of the phase windings include a plurality of types of turn portions having different circumferential lengths. For each of the phase windings, apex parts of the turn portions of the phase winding are arranged in pairs over the entire circumferential range of the stator coil. The apex parts of each of the pairs axially overlap each other. Each circumferentially-adjacent pair of the apex parts of the turn portions of all the phase windings are circumferentially offset from each other by a distance greater than the predetermined pitch.
