Abstract: In an exhaust system for an internal combustion engine, an output member is configured to transmit power generated by a motor to a valving element via a valve stem. An output shaft is disposed on a rotation central axis of an output gear and coupled with the output gear to be rotatable integrally therewith. A follower is disposed eccentrically relative to a rotation central axis of the output shaft and connected to the output shaft to be rotatable integrally therewith. A first accommodating chamber accommodates at least the valve stem and the follower. A second accommodating chamber accommodates at least the motor and the output gear. A housing includes a housing wall that divides the first chamber from the second chamber. The housing wall includes a first bearing slidably supporting the output shaft in its rotation direction, and a cylindrical first bearing holder holding outer periphery of the first bearing.

Abstract: A cam full close stopper defines a cam full close position that is a limit position of a rotatable range of a cam. A sensor element outputs a signal corresponding to a rotation angle of the cam. A signal processor changes the signal output from the sensor element into a sensor output. A storage part memorizes a data table representing a correspondence relationship between the rotation angle of the cam and the sensor output of the signal processor in a predetermined form, characteristics of the sensor output being adjustable at a plurality of points with respect to the rotation angle of the cam. The storage part memorizes the sensor output of the signal processor when the cam is fully closed at the cam full close position.

Abstract: A boss is shaped in a tubular form and is injection molded integrally with a housing that forms a flow passage. A ring member is press-fitted to an inner peripheral wall of the boss. A shaft placed on a radially inner side of the ring member is configured to be rotated about a central axis. A movable valve is coupled to a portion of the shaft and is configured to adjust a size of a cross-sectional area of a passage opening at the flow passage. Each of gate marks of the housing is a trace of a site of the housing where molten resin is injected at a time of injection molding of the housing. Each of ribs radially inwardly projects from the inner peripheral wall of the boss and is placed at a corresponding location of the boss which is between adjacent two of the gate marks.

Abstract: In a valve device, a housing has a mounting portion that contacts a back surface of a stationary disk which is opposite to a contact surface of the stationary disk while the contact surface is opposed to a rotor. One of the stationary disk and the mounting portion has a receiving groove that receives a gasket which seals a gap between the stationary disk and the mounting portion. The gasket has: two seal surfaces that are opposed to the stationary disk and the mounting portion, respectively; and at least one lateral projection that is opposed to a groove lateral surface of the receiving groove and projects toward the groove lateral surface. The gasket is press-fitted into the receiving groove in a state where the at least one lateral projection is in contact with the groove lateral surface.
