    Abstract: Techniques for allocating cell site component capacity to conserve power are disclosed. Antenna ports of a radio unit are identified and a capacity for each antenna port is obtained. A throughput of a first antenna is obtained. A configuration for the first antenna is determined based on the throughput and the antenna port capacities. One or more antenna ports are selected, based on the capacities and the configuration for the first antenna, to allocate to the first antenna. The one or more antenna ports of the radio unit are then allocated to the first antenna. Antenna ports of the radio unit that are not allocated to the first antenna may be entered into a reduced-power state or allocated to a second antenna of the cell site.

    Abstract: An interference mitigation system is provided herein. The interference mitigation system selects a threshold power range for signals received by at least one antenna and compares a power level of a signal to the threshold power range. Based on a determination of whether the power level of the first wireless signal exceeds the threshold power range, the interference mitigation system identifies nodes that transmit or receive wireless signals and causes the nodes to stop transmitting or receiving signals for a selected duration of time. The interference mitigation system receives additional signals during the selected duration of time, and determines whether the first wireless signal caused internal interference or external interference based on the additional signals and the first wireless signal. The interference mitigation system causes the interference to be resolved based on the determination of whether the interference is internal interference or external interference.

    Abstract: An Open radio access network (ORAN) configured for accessing a 5G Core network to provide voice and data services to one or more mobile terminals, includes radio units (RUs), distributed units (DUs) and a centralized unit (CU) pool. The ORAN is configured such that each DU is configured to be associated concurrently to a primary CU and a secondary CU, both selected from the CU pool according to predetermined criteria. Upon occurrence of a predetermined event, the DU switches the secondary CU to become the primary CU, without resulting an outage in the ORAN.

    Abstract: An interference mitigation system is provided herein.     Abstract: Techniques for criteria modification of wireless network infrastructure software package validation are provided. A NodeB includes a network entity that is a central unit, distributed unit or radio unit. A computer system receives data representing a pre-installation reference parameter determined when the network entity is operated using a first software package and receives data representing a post-installation reference parameter determined when the network entity is operated using a second software package. The computer system stores a criterion for validating the second software package, identifies a difference between the post-installation and pre-installation reference parameters, modifies the criterion based on the difference and determines whether to validate the second software package based on the modified criterion. If validated, the computer system, sends a signal to the NodeB indicating the validation, and the NodeB causes the second software package to be installed on the network entity.

    Abstract: Techniques for dynamically transferring cell traffic to reduce power consumption are disclosed. A method for dynamically transferring cell traffic to reduce power consumption begins by determining a load on radio units that service a geographic area. A determination is made that the load on a first radio unit fails to satisfy a reduce power threshold. A determination is made that the load on the first radio unit satisfies a transfer threshold. The load on the first radio unit is transferred to at least a second radio unit such that the first radio unit satisfies the reduce power threshold. Then, a component associated with the first radio unit to turn off is selected. The component is turned off, causing the first radio unit to enter a reduced-power state.

    Abstract: Various arrangements for dynamically adjusting physical resource block (PRB) usage on a cellular network are presented. A primary entity may be determined to be exercising its priority to spectrum overlapping PRBs used by the cellular network. In the method and apparatus, an O-RAN network entity evaluates one or more resource utilization criteria indicative of whether a cell is in a sleep state to determine whether the one or more resource utilization criteria are met.
