Abstract:
When a data communication apparatus as a sender gateway receives instruction information for instructing a communication system via ITU recommendation T.38 or a communication system via ITU recommendation T.37 from a sender facsimile apparatus as an analogue communication terminal, data communication is executed with respect to a recipient connected gateway on the basis of the communication system instructed by the instruction information.
Abstract:
In an image communication apparatus for communicating a color image with a distant apparatus according to the ITU-T recommendations upon line connection, an original image is read by a scanner unit, and the size of the read original image is identified. If the identified size of the original image is smaller than the page size defined by the ITU-U recommendation, image data is generated by reading the original image upon adding invalid data to the original image to make it have a main scanning length equal to the main scanning length of the minimum page size defined by the ITU-T recommendation in reading the original image through the scanner unit, and the image data is compressed by a JPEG compressing unit and transmitted. In this case, the valid image area of the compressed data is set in accordance with the size of the original image. This allows the receiving side to read only the valid image area, decode the valid image area, and reproduce the image.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an image reading apparatus comprising a transparent plate, a convey means for conveying an original onto the transparent plate, a light source for illuminating the original, a light receiving element for reading an image of the original illuminated by the light source through the transparent plate, the light receiving element being shifted in a first mode in which the original stopped on the transparent plate is read and being kept stationary in a second mode in which the original being shifted by the convey means is read, and a control means for controlling a light amount of the light source in accordance with the first mode or the second mode.
Abstract:
An apparatus supplies power to a communication unit that communicates with an external apparatus, and manages history information for each communication sequence in the communication unit in a mode where power supplied to a control unit is stopped. At that time, the apparatus assigns identification information unique to the communication unit to the history information when the apparatus is in a mode where power supplied to the control unit is stopped, and makes control when power supplied to the control unit is stopped or when the apparatus returns to the mode in which power is supplied to the control unit so that continuity of the history information managed by the control unit is ensured.
Abstract:
This invention provides an information processing apparatus which shortens the memory access time and reduces the cost while ensuring data reliability. To accomplish this, the information processing apparatus shifts each write start timing so that data to be written in at least one memory is not influenced by noise during write when writing the same information in a plurality of memories. When reading data from a plurality of memories, the information processing apparatus compares the data with each other to estimate normal data.
Abstract:
An object is to provide an image processing apparatus which can reduce power consumption during the power saving standby mode. The starting factor monitor unit and the power saving standby mode voltage control unit are driven with the USB bus power can be supplied during a shift to the power saving standby mode and the starting factor monitor unit and the power saving standby mode voltage control unit are driven by voltage from the main power supply when the USB bus power cannot be supplied during a shift to the power saving standby mode.
Abstract:
A multi-function apparatus having a wider variety of uses and easily employed when carrying a USB cable only without having a power source cord. The apparatus includes means for detecting a connection between the USB interface and the PC, means for detecting a connection to the power line, and control means for selecting a function depending on a detected state of the connection between the USB interface and PC and a detected state of the connection to the AC power line. All the functions in the multi-function apparatus are operable in a connected state of the AC power line to the AC power source, while even in an unconnected state of the AC power line to the AC power source, if the USB interface is connected to the PC, a possible operation is enabled using electric power of 5 V at 500 mA supplied from the PC.

Abstract:
A photoelectric conversion apparatus includes photoelectric conversion elements configured to receive light reflected from an original illuminated by a light source and to convert the received light into an electrical signal, an output circuit for amplifying the electrical signal from the photoelectric conversion elements and outputting the amplified signal as an image signal in a time series fashion, and a driving stop circuit for stopping driving a part of the photoelectric conversion elements or a power supply stop circuit for stopping supplying power to a part of the photoelectric conversion elements.
Abstract:
A composite apparatus and a printer sharing method are provided which can use an already developed printer board and suppress an increase in product cost. If a print permission signal is true, a selector of a main controller is switched to receive a signal from a printer board. The main controller controls to which one of a printer interface of the main controller and a printer interface of the printer board a signal is transferred from the selector. Namely, when a relay receives a PRNT signal, this effect is notified to the main controller's CPU via a CPU bus, and the CPU sends a control signal to the selector via the printer interface of the main controller and a signal line. In response to this, the selector is switched to the printer board side to thereafter transfer signals from the printer board to printer to perform a print process. After the print process, the CPU sends a selector control signal to the selector via the printer interface of the main controller so that the selector is recovered to the main controller side.
