    摘要: In one example, data may be divided into blocks, and the blocks may be stored in various storage resources. Data to be stored may be provided to a data divider. The data divider may divide the data into blocks. Redundancy may be introduced into the blocks to allow the original data to be reconstructed at some point in the future, even if fewer than all of the original blocks are available. The blocks may be sent to a data shuffler, which may shuffle the blocks, and may provide a key that describes how to reconstruct the original data from the blocks. The key may be provided to the owner of the data. When the original data is to be retrieved, the key may be provided to a reassembler, which retrieves the blocks from the various storage resources and reconstructs the data using the key.

    摘要: A guided boring machine includes a cutter head, a steering head and an internal casing with an auger therein for conveying material cut by the cutter head towards the rear end of the auger. The boring machine bores a tunnel from a launch pit to a target pit along a desired boring direction and simultaneously installing a selected one of a plurality of differently-sized product casings in the tunnel. When the internal casing is placed within a selected product casing with its internal casing longitudinal axis coincident with the longitudinal axis of the selected product casing, an annular space is formed with respect to the selected product casing. The guidance assembly includes a laser that is mounted behind the boring machine and oriented so as to direct its beam in a desired boring direction within the annular space. A target mount is mounted to the steering head inside surface. The target mount includes a roll correction slot which is parallel to the adjacent steering head inside surface. A target is mounted to the target mount and adapted to move with respect thereto. The target has a target point which is intersected by the laser beam when the cutter head is properly oriented with respect to the desired boring direction. A gradiometer is mounted to the target to indicate the roll orientation of the steering head, and a roll correction assembly is provided to roll the steering head, if desired, to adjust its roll orientation.

The position of the fuel assembly with respect to an employed control blade in the nuclear reactor determines if the outer channel may be thickened, reinforced, and/or fabricated of Zircaloy-4 or similar distortion-resistant material, so as to reduce or prevent distortion of the channel against the control blade, or thinned so as to increase water volume and enhance reactivity in the assembly. Reactor cores having configured fuel assemblies include fuel assemblies having different outer channels. Methods include determining operational characteristics of the fuel assembly, including likelihood of being placed directly adjacent to an employed control blade, and physically selecting or modifying the outer channel of the fuel assembly based thereon.

    摘要: A network test system utilizes known good responses when testing responses from in-test servers. In one embodiment, the test system includes a verification server that is known to provide correct responses. In-test servers are subjected to very high rates of requests, and the responses are compared to responses from the verification server. Hash values are optionally used to represent the correct responses, and are compared to similar hash values produced from the actual responses of the in-test servers. Dynamic data is accommodated by basing the hash values on only the static portions of responses. Alternatively, dynamic data is accommodated by using search patterns—when receiving an actual response from an in-test server, the response is searched for the specified search pattern. The response is deemed to be incorrect if the search pattern does not occur. Wildcards and other variable elements are used in the search patterns.

The system can be used for video conferencing, remote surveillance or desk-top services, and can include an image grooming system. Images may be stored in switch facilities traditionally used for voice mail.

An operating system kernel is provided having a standardized interface for permitting the installation of a selected one of multiple diverse schedulers for use in different environments.     摘要: A boring machine includes a steering head which is located behind a cutter head. The steering head has a plurality of steering openings spaced around its periphery. A steering component is mounted adjacent to each steering opening, and each steering component includes a steering paddle that is pivotally mounted with respect to the steering head so as to pivot about a paddle pivot axis. Each steering component also includes a linear actuator and a force multiplier. The linear actuator operates to direct an actuating force along a line that is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the steering head, and it cooperates with the force multiplier and the steering paddle so that upon operation of the linear actuator, a pivot force which is the product of the actuating force and a multiplier factor greater than one causes the steering paddle to pivot about the pivot axis.
