Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to games, and more specifically to an apparatus and method for a racing game wherein a player attempts to complete a target number of laps and/or to accumulate a winning point value, and wherein general play and outcome are governed by events having substantially pre-determined odds of outcome, including movement directed by essentially random number generation leading to direct and indirect action commands and controls via track position and cards and resulting player interaction.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for conducting business via the worldwide Web in which business programming is isolated from Web user interface programming. In accordance with the invention, a gateway servlet interfaces between a consumer's browser's software, a plurality of Java beans, Java Server Pages, and a e-business retailer's back-end business software running, for instance, on a separate mainframe. The gateway servlet receives input information from the consumer and instantiates and populates a Java bean that confirms that the input data has been entered correctly. It then forwards the verified input data the back-end software for business processing. The back-end software returns a user interface record object to the gateway which then instantiates and populates another Java bean to format the data. The gateway then invokes a Java Server Page that interfaces with the Java bean in order to generate a HTML page to be returned to the user based on the user input information and the business back-end processing thereof.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for an integrated circuit having a offset reference circuit block to receive an external voltage reference and output an offset reference voltage are described herein.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a mandrel for fabricating a monolithic composite nacelle panel for use on an airplane. Also disclosed is the method of constructing the mandrel, the method of assembling the mandrel, and the method of disassembling the mandrel.
Abstract:
A spray application system for applying material to a surface of a rotating body such as a beverage can includes a detector that detects the actual speed of rotation of the surface during a spraying operation. This allows a controller to adjust trigger signals for the application device to be adjusted based on speed of rotation to minimize overcoat. A laser sensor may be used as an example. The use of the speed detector also allows for partial wraps as well as full wraps of applying material to the rotating surface.
Abstract:
A mobile station (106) establishes a real time communication link via an access point (102) for carrying voice or other time-sensitive data. A WLAN subsystem (204) of the mobile station is normally kept in a low power state. Upon initiating a communication link the mobile station signals to the access point that uplink poll-based power save delivery mode will be used (614), and the access point reserves resources to assure the necessary quality of service. The mobile station initiates a frame transaction by first powering up the WLAN subsystem (712), acquiring the WLAN channel (407), and transmitting a polling frame. Upon successful receipt of the polling frame the access point prepares to reply with a response frame at an unspecified time within service window, during which time the mobile station maintains the WLAN subsystem power up and ready to receive the response frame. Upon successful receipt of the response frame, the mobile station places the WLAN subsystem back into a low power state.
Abstract:
A method (400, 500, 800), and apparatus (212, 230, 240) provide for mobility in WLAN voice systems. In one embodiment a processor (651) coupled to a memory (652) and a radio resource (653) determines from that client (150) should move, based for example on a signal parameter, to an adjacent MSN (240). Adjacent MSNs are discovered and a modification of a portion of a tunnel switched path to the adjacent MSN is made and a portion released after the modified path is established. Information is transferred to client 150 over the tunnel using a lower layer address such as a MAC address.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method, system, and computer program for providing synchronous execution between objects written in an object-oriented programming language and business logic written in a procedural programming language, while executing under control of an interactive test facility for debugging purposes. A single, logical interface is provided during debugging, while actually spanning multiple programming models based on different technologies. Using the present invention, the developer is able to debug both the object-oriented user interface part and the procedural business logic part of an application as the code executes in an integrated manner.
