Abstract: A damper for a storage compartment closure includes a bellows chamber and damper air passage structures each configured to provide an air volume intake during a bellows chamber extension that is less than an air volume expulsion during a bellows chamber compression. One damper air venting structure is a valve having a translatable lid including an aperture defined therethrough. A bellows chamber air pressure differential maintains the translatable lid in a closed configuration during the bellows chamber extension and in an open configuration during the bellows chamber compression. Another damper air venting structure is at least one bellows chamber vent including a cover configured whereby a bellows chamber extension incrementally transitions the cover to a closed configuration.

Abstract: A seat belt assembly includes a first lap belt portion having an anchored end and a first plate, and a second lap belt portion having an anchored end and a second plate. A first shoulder belt having a retractor end and a buckle end extends through a first slot in the first plate between the retractor end and the buckle end. A second shoulder belt having a retractor end and a tongue end extends through a first slot in the second plate between the retractor end and the tongue end. The buckle end is fixedly attached to a buckle and the tongue end is fixedly attached to a tongue. The buckle and the tongue are releasably attachable.

Abstract: An impact resistant releasable retainer is for a door, such as for covering a glove box or other vehicle storage compartment. A pawl retains the door closed and releases to allow the door to open. A pivotally mounted catch engages the pawl, such as within a notch, when the door is closed or moved in a forward direction, opposite the opening direction. An actuator moves the catch allowing the pawl to move, such as by engagement with the actuator following the engagement with the catch, for releasing the door to open. The catch otherwise remains secured to the pawl for preventing the inadvertent release of the door, such as during movement in the forward direction as the result of an impact.
