Abstract:
A pneumatic support system for a wheelchair is provided herein. An implementation includes a support unit that supports a portion of the body of a user, a control unit that permits the user to control whether the support unit gets inflated or deflated, and a compressor that provides pressurized air to the support unit to inflate the support unit. The wheelchair has a valve, such when the user indicates that the support unit is to be inflated, the control unit sends a signal to the valve to move the valve to a first position, thereby permitted the pressurized air to reach the support unit. The support unit may be implemented in a variety of ways, and may be one of many support units. In one implementation, the support unit supports a thoracic portion of the user's body. In another implementation, the wheelchair has one or more thoracic support units, which may be disposed on opposite sides of the thoracic portion of the user's body, and one or more pelvic support units, which may be disposed on opposite sides of the user's pelvis. The thoracic support units and or the pelvic support units may be pivotally attached to the back support of the wheelchair.
Abstract:
A seat of an apparatus in one example comprises a front subportion and a rear subportion that is adjustable in height and/or angle relative to the front subportion. A backrest of the apparatus in one example is adjustable in shape. Based on a user contact pressure against one or more portions of the seat and/or one or more portions of the backrest, the rear subportion of the seat and the backrest are adjustable between: a first height and/or angle of the rear subportion of the seat and a first shape of the backrest; and a second height and/or angle of the rear subportion of the seat and a second shape of the backrest.
Abstract:
An automated three dimensional mapping and display system for a diagnostic ultrasound system is presented. According to the invention, ultrasound probe position registration is automated, the position of each pixel in the ultrasound image in reference to selected anatomical references is calculated, and specified information is stored on command. The system, during real time ultrasound scanning, enables the ultrasound probe position and orientation to be continuously displayed over a body or body part diagram, thereby facilitating scanning and images interpretation of stored information. The system can then record single or multiple ultrasound free hand two-dimensional (also “2D”) frames in a video sequence (clip) or cine loop wherein multiple 2D frames of one or more video sequences corresponding to a scanned volume can be reconstructed in three-dimensional (also “3D”) volume images corresponding to the scanned region, using known 3D reconstruction algorithms. In later examinations, the exact location and position of the transducer can be recreated along three dimensional or two dimensional axis points enabling known targets to be viewed from an exact, known position.
Abstract:
A hybrid circuit without inductors is provided. Embodiments can be used in high-speed communication devices, including Cable modem and Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) devices. In particular, embodiments can be used in Very High Speed DSL (VDSL) devices. Embodiments provide a cheap and compact solution to the echo rejection problem in high-speed communication devices. Furthermore, embodiments perform at least comparably to conventional solutions with respect to key performance measures.
Abstract:
A device for determining a strength profile of a human limb. The device comprises a first tubular member and a support intended to be suspended in a fixed position in relation to a coordinate system X-, y and z-axes. The first tubular member is arranged for holding the human limb and for being in contact with the support via at least one force sensor arranged for detecting forces exercised by the human limb on the first tubular member in directions in the coordinate system when determining the strength profile, wherein the coordinate system is three-dimension and has x-, y and z-axes and the force sensor is/are arranged for detecting forces along each of the x-, y and z-axes. The determined strength profile, for e.g. an arm or a leg of a human subject, can be presented as a table or diagram illustrating the forces and torques the human limb in question can exercise in different directions in the coordinate system. The device according to the invention is a useful tool in ergonomic, orthopaedic and research work.
Abstract:
A mode-configurable amplifier comprises a single-ended input for receiving a received signal from a capacitive touch panel, a differential output operable to carry a differential processed signal to a subsequent processing stage, and processing circuitry in communication with the single ended input and the differential output. The processing circuitry comprises mode selection inputs and mode selection circuitry in communication with the mode selection inputs. The mode selection circuitry is operable to configure the processing circuitry into a current operating mode selected from a high-pass filter mode, bandpass filter mode, and a trans-capacitive gain mode. The high-pass filter mode is operable to high-pass filter the received signal to obtain the differential processed signal. The bandpass filter mode is operable to bandpass filter the received signal to obtain the differential processed signal. The wideband gain mode is operable to amplify the received signal to obtain the differential processed signal.

A seat of an apparatus, in one example, comprises a front subportion and a rear subportion that is adjustable in height and/or angle relative to the front subportion. A backrest of the apparatus, in one example, is adjustable in shape. Based on a manipulation of adjustments, a subportion of the seat and the backrest are adjustable between: a first height and/or angle of the rear subportion of the seat and a first shape of the backrest; and a second height and/or angle of the rear subportion of the seat and a second shape of the backrest.
