Abstract: An inkjet printer has a print bar system comprising a print bar and a plurality of selectively replaceable print heads attached to the print bar. The system comprises a receptor on the bar, for installation of a print head, each print head having a rear face for insertion in said receptor in a first direction. A latch is provided, pivoted on the bar. The latch has a user-actuatable handle adapted, during a first movement thereof, to engage a latch member of the latch with a catch on the bar to lock the latch in a lockable position on the bar. A platform is mounted on the latch with freedom to move with respect to the latch in said first direction when the latch is in said lockable position. The platform has a latch electrical connector, adapted to engage a head electrical convector on the print head, by mutual movement of the connectors in said first direction. A bias means urges the platform in said first direction. A second movement of the handle releases the platform for movement relative to the latch under the action of the bias means. When the latch is in the lockable position, and the print head is installed in the receptor, the first movement of the handle locks the latch in the lockable position and the second movement of the handle releases the platform so that the bias means presses the platform in said first direction to engage said electrical connectors and urge the print head into secure engagement with the receptor.

Abstract: A mixer unit is described, comprising a support, a mixing container which includes a mixing device, and first and second load cells mounted on opposed sides of the mixing container between the mixing container and the support. The mixing container is to receive and mix unfused build materials for a 3D printing system from at least two different sources. The mixing container is mounted to the support in a manner constraining to vertical movement and such that all vertical forces from the mixing container pass through the load cells to the support. In this manner, a vertical force of the mixing container acting on the support is measured to weigh the contents of the mixing container. A method of mixing unfused build materials for a 3D printing system in a predefined weight ratio using the mixer unit is also described.

The controller may control the printing unit to print a media sheet with at least one indicia indicating an intended location of a fold line, wherein the media sheet is to be folded along the fold line. Abstract: Examples of a method for detecting misalignment cause a printer to print a calibration pattern on a recording medium sheet. The calibration pattern includes graduated measurement scales positioned so that: when the calibration pattern is printed without misalignment on a recording medium sheet of predetermined dimensions, matching graduations of plural measurement scales in the calibration pattern are printed at respective reference locations on the recording medium sheet that correspond to corners of the recording medium sheet (or to spaced positions along a line where folding of the recording medium sheet by a folding apparatus is intended to take place). When the calibration pattern is printed with misalignment on a recording medium sheet of predetermined dimensions, non-matching graduations of the plural measurement scales are printed at the reference locations on the recording medium sheet.
