Abstract: A fuel system can include a main pump assembly having a main fuel pump connected to an input line and configured to pump fuel to a main fuel control via a main fuel control line, a recirculation pump connected to the input line, and a fuel recirculation system connected to the recirculation pump and upstream of the main fuel control. The fuel recirculation system can be configured to select a mode from a plurality of modes. The plurality of modes can include a recirculation mode and a backup mode. The fuel recirculation system can be configured to recirculate fuel from the recirculation pump to a tank through one or more coolers in the recirculation mode, and to provide fuel to the main fuel control in the backup mode.

Abstract: A fuel pump system includes a main fuel pump between a system fuel inlet and a system fuel outlet, a fuel flow path at least partially defined between the main fuel pump and the system fuel outlet, and a support fuel pump between the system fuel inlet and the system fuel outlet. The support fuel pump is sized to provide more flow to the system fuel outlet, when in an active state, than the main fuel pump. The system includes a valve assembly in fluid communication with the support fuel pump configured and adapted to connect the support fuel pump to the system fuel outlet, and a pressure regulating valve in fluid communication with the fuel flow path between the main fuel pump and the system fuel outlet. The system includes an EHSV in fluid communication with the fuel flow path between the PRV and the system fuel outlet.

Abstract: A system includes a variable displacement pump (VDP) in fluid communication with an inlet line and with an outlet line. A bypass valve (BPV) includes a BPV inlet in fluid communication with the outlet line, and a BPV outlet in fluid communication with a bypass line that feeds into the inlet line upstream of the VDP. An actuator is operatively connected to control the BPV to vary flow from the BPV inlet to the bypass line. A flow sensing valve (FSV) is connected in the outlet line. The FSV includes a sensor configured to generate sensor data indicative of flow out of the outlet line. A controller operatively connected to the actuator to control recirculation flow passed through the BPV based on the sensor data and based on a predetermined low threshold of flow through the VDP.

Abstract: A dual pump fuel delivery system for an aircraft includes a fixed displacement fuel pump including an inlet and an outlet. A variable displacement fuel pump including an inlet portion and an outlet portion includes a selectively adjustable pump actuator configured to supply a second portion of the fuel demand. A control member is operatively connected to the fuel demand sensor and the variable displacement fuel pump. The control member being configured to operate to adjust the variable displacement fuel pump to output the second portion of the fuel demand to satisfy the selected fuel demand.

Abstract: A system for vane pitch actuation includes an electric motor with a rotary output shaft defining a drive axis. A worm shaft defines a drive axis, and is operatively connected to be driven in rotation about the drive axis by the rotary output shaft of the electric motor. A sync ring is defined about an engine axis that is orthogonal to the drive axis. The sync ring is configured to rotate about the engine axis over a range of positions for driving a plurality of variable pitch stator vanes to each have a pitch based on position of the sync ring. The sync ring includes a plurality of gear teeth for actuation of the sync ring by the electric motor.
