摘要： An apparatus is disclosed for adjusting the inclination of the small sides in a mold for continuous casting, selectively in response to any variations of the mold sides as such, and in response to any variation of the gap between the casting emerging from the mold and the lower end thereof. A feedback loop operating in response to mold side inclination should be responsive to command input which are dependent upon the casting speed.

摘要： Additives in the form of a wire-like object are introduced through a tube into the interior of molten metal bath. The wire in the tube is surrounded by a pressurized gas which prevents metal from entering the tube. Since the tube extends close to the bottom of the bath, the additives melt near that bottom and are distributed in the bath through convective flow.

摘要： A casting powder for steel having, for example, ground blast furnace slag, and/or sand and caustic lime CaF.sub.2 as basic substances with further additives which include up to 10% of additives decomposing completely at temperatures below 600.degree. C under development of gas whereby the mole-volume of developed gas per mole-weight gas-generating additive (m.sup.3 /Kg) is not smaller than 0.5. Ammonium nitrite or ammonium carbonate is preferred whereby the gaseous decomposition products will be nitrogen, water vapor and/or carbon dioxide.

摘要： An electromagnetic stirring apparatus for stirring the liquid center core of a continuous casting. The casting is supported by and transported over guide rolls while a changing electromagnetic field is induced within the liquid casting core by induction coils positioned beneath the casting. Fingers of a stack of ferromagnetic plates form the cores of the induction coils and are positioned between the guide rolls and are close enough to the casting to induce a strong field therein.
