摘要: In a printing service system for providing a service only to authenticated users by receiving authentication information from the users, authentication information issued by a service provider other than a provider of the printing service can be used. When a user who has not registered with the printing service system but has registered with a collaborating service provider uses the printing service, authentication information issued by the collaborating service provider is input from a personal computer to authentication means. The authentication means asks a system of the collaborating service provider about the authentication information and obtains information of affirmation or denial of the authentication information. Based on this result, the authentication means judges whether or not the user accessing the printing service system can receive the service. If the user is eligible for the service, the authentication means notifies printing service means of eligibility of the user for the service, and the printing service means provides the service to the user. If the user is not eligible for the service, the authentication means displays ineligibility of the user on the personal computer.

摘要: At the time of ordering a print of image data via a network, agency information is input without carrying out a troublesome operation. Image data obtained by reading a film at a DPE store are written in a CD-R together with agency information representing the DPE store. By using a user terminal, a user orders the print of the image data written in the CD-R from a printing-order reception center. Upon ordering the print, the agency information written in the CD-R is transferred to an order reception server. After the print is generated, the printing-order reception center delivers the print to the agency represented by the agency information.

摘要: In a method of reading out a radiation image stored in a stimulable phosphor sheet, preliminary read-out for approximately detecting the image is conducted. A cumulative histogram of the image information is created, read-out conditions in the final read-out are corrected based on a characteristic value of the cumulative histogram, then the final read-out is conducted using the corrected conditions. Alternatively, a standard image information range is determined from the characteristic value, and the read-out conditions are adjusted so that the standard range corresponds to a predetermined electronic signal range. In addition, in the read-out method where gradation processing is performed for electronic image signals obtained by photoelectrically detecting the phosphor light emitted by the sheet, histogram of the image signals is created, and a desired image signal range is determined therefrom. A cummulative histogram then is created, the desired range is corrected based on a characteristic value of the cumulative histogram, and gradation processing conditions are adjusted so that the corrected desired signal range corresponds to a predetermined electronic signal range. Alternatively, a standard signal range is determined based on the characteristic value, and gradation processing conditions are adjusted so that the standard range corresponds to a predetermined electronic signal range.

摘要: A signal processing method for analyzing an autoradiograph by subjecting digital image data containing an autoradiograph of a resolved pattern to digital signal processing to obtain locational information on radioactively labeled substances in the form of numerals and/or symbols is disclosed. The resolved pattern is formed by resolving radioactively labeled substances, such as, for example, nucleic acids, in a one-dimensional direction on a support medium. The total boundary area of the resolved patterns throughout the digital image data is determined by first dividing the digital image data into two or more blocks along a direction perpendicular to the resolving direction and then preparing a waveform composed of positions along the direction perpendicular to the resolving direction for each block by compiling the digital image date for each block. The waveform is used to establish the boundary of the area of the resolved pattern for each block, and the boundaries of the resolved pattern area of each block are interpolated to establish the total boundary area of the resolved patterns. This method is an easily conducted, accurate analytical method for obtaining locational information and, thus, the identity of a wide variety of radioactively labeled substances.

摘要: A signal processing method for analyzing an autoradiograph to identify the locations of radioactively labeled substances which have been resolved in a one-dimensional developing direction on a support medium is provided. According to this method, digital image data including a plurality of different levels and values obtained by placing the support medium and a radiographic film together in layers to record the autoradiograph of the radioactively labeled substances are subjected to digital signal processing to identify their positions in a manner which substantially eliminates background noise. A stimulable phosphor sheet can be used in place of the radiographic film to record the autoradiograph. The method described herein may be effectively used to identify selected components of various biopolymers.

摘要: A signal processing method for determining the base sequence of nucleic acids from data on an autoradiograph is provided. An autoradiograph including a plurality of resolved rows is formed by resolving a mixture of base-specific DNA fragments or base-specific RNA fragments that have been labeled with a radioactive element in a one-dimensional direction on a support medium. The method detects bands along each resolved row corresponding to the nucleic acid bases from digital signal data representing position and signal level for each row. The digital signal data corresponding to the autoradiograph may be photoelectrically detected as stimulated emission from the recording of the autoradiograph of the resolved rows on a phosphor sheet or as visible images from the recording by the autoradiograph of the resolved rows on a radiosensitive material.
