摘要: Thin film, multi-layered components wherein the layers are hermetically sealed with a re-flowed conductive sealant (e.g. Pb/Sn solder). The sealant is applied to an endless ground conductor at the peripheral edge of at least one of each pair of opposed substrate layers prior to registering the conductors and re-flowing the sealant. The microstrip conductors comprise thin film adhesion and seed layers and a covering metalization. The signal and ground conductors are terminated with solder balls and the signal and ground conductors are connected with micro vias that extend through the substrates.

摘要: This image pickup apparatus is capable of picking up very low level images, such as a star or a comet in a night sky, and is capable of obtaining a video signal having a desired S/N ratio without using a conventional noise reducer. The apparatus comprises a television camera including an image pickup tube, a field memory for storing a video signal delivered from the television camera, and a write-inhibiting control circuit, wherein a period of beam scanning for generating the video signal in the image pickup tube is extended to n-times the standard field period for increasing the sensitivity of the image pickup tube. Writing to the field memory is inhibited in other periods except for the beam scanning period, while a normal television signal is continuously obtained from the field memory. A key signal corresponding to dark portions of the image that are not to be enhanced may be generated and stored in an area memory, and then read out from the area memory during every standard field period. An imaging control circuit responsive to the imaging control signal and the key signal then controls the image pickup device, such that it extracts a videeo signal from the whole of an imaging area during the period of one field designated by the imaging control signal, and extracts a video signal from a partial area apecified by the key signal during other field periods.

摘要: Provided is a device for supporting a center reflector stably and firmly. The device improves the setting density of heliostats and is capable of reducing the blocking and the shadowing of the beams of light reflected by the heliostats. In a beam down system solar generation device, the center reflector is attached, in a cantilever manner, to a supporting post standing upright. A pylon is provided to stand on the top of the supporting post. A stay member is attached to the pylon and is used for fixing the center reflector. A second stay member is provided to support the supporting post. This second stay member connects: the pylon; a jut extending out from the back side of the supporting post; and a base.

摘要: An object is to provide a solar ray lighting device which is capable of reducing the blocking and the shadowing of beams of light reflected by heliostats and which is capable of fixing firmly and stably a heavy and large-sized center reflector. In a beam-down type solar ray lighting device, at least three supporting blocks are assembled together to form a pyramidal shape. In addition, an outer circumferential edge of the center reflector is fixed to the supporting posts so that the outer circumferential edge of the center reflector can internally touch the supporting posts.

摘要: A compact hard disk drive that operates silently at a low power consumption needs a suspension assembly that places a low load on the magnetic head. In one embodiment, a suspension assembly comprises a head arm mounted on a carriage shaft, a load beam capable of placing load on a magnetic head and serving as a beam, and a flexure assembly. The flexure assembly includes a flexure formed by processing a thin metal sheet, an insulating layer laminated to the flexure, a wiring pattern formed on the insulating layer, and a protective layer coating the wiring pattern. The flexure has a flexible part for placing load on the magnetic head, a gimbals to which the magnetic head is attached, and a base part attached to the head arm. The elastic part of the flexure generates a very load in the range of about 0.5 to about 1 g.

摘要: In a system to which a plurality of devices are connected, each device has heretofore required a connector for an AC adapter and a connector for a signal line. Further, in order to arrange it so that the amount of power supplied to the overall system will not exceed a limit value, it has been required to adjust the amount of power during system use by turning the power source of each device on or off. According to the present invention, a signal line for data transfer and a power line for supply of power in a system connecting a plurality of devices are consolidated in a single cable to make it possible to connect both lines to one connector of each device. The power controller of a certain device acquires the properties of a plurality of devices connected to this device, decides the optimum power distribution and controls the power controllers of each of the other devices.

摘要: Apertures are formed in the portion of a flexure adjacent to the soldered portions between the bonding pads of the slider and the lead pads of lead end portions. With this, an adhesive agent for bonding the slider to a flexure tongue is moved downward from the apertures so there is no fear that the adhesive agent will contact the lead pads and the bonding pads. This design prevents the protrusion of an adhesive agent from short-circuiting the flexure, and absorbs a warp produced by shrinkage of a soldered portion by decreasing rigidity of the flexure. When both the bonding pad formed on the slider and the lead pad of a lead fixed to the platform of the flexure are disposed and soldered, the quality of the soldered portion is improved by locating the pads as close to each other as possible.

摘要: A system for producing parts/substrate assemblies each of which includes a substrate such as a ceramic substrate and a plurality of parts such as LSIs mounted on the substrate. After the LSIs for one lot of the production have been checked for excess or deficiency, etc. by a collating device, they are formed with solder bumps and then inspected. The LSIs are automatically arranged on empty work pallets as parts kits by a kit setting apparatus, and the work pallets on each of which the corresponding LSIs have been arranged as the parts kit are moved into a stocker. A host computer gives a command for mounting the LSIs on the ceramic substrate on which they can be mounted, on the basis of information indicating the stocked pallet and information indicating the progress of the ceramic substrate. An LSI mounting apparatus reads the serial No. of the introduced ceramic substrate, and requests the stocker to deliver the work pallet on which the associated LSIs have been arranged as the parts kit.

摘要: A printing method capable of printing a high-quality image at a high speed and low cost and a corresponding printing apparatus are disclosed. In this printing apparatus, a shading-corrected mask pattern for multipass printing control in consideration of the characteristics of each printing element of a printhead is generated. The size of the mask pattern in the conveyance direction of the printing medium is set to be an integer multiple of the conveyance amount of the printing medium per scanning of the printhead. Image data masked using the mask pattern is transferred to the printhead and printed. Alternatively, the conveyance-direction size of the mask pattern for masking print data in accordance with each pass printing of multipass printing is set to be equivalent to the number of nozzles of an ink-jet printhead having a plurality of nozzles arrayed in the conveyance direction of the printing medium, and the mask pattern is dividedly used for each pass printing. Any error of the position of a dot printed on the printing medium by an ink droplet discharged from each nozzle is detected in units of nozzles. Printing may be performed using a mask pattern generated such that a printing element with a small error is frequently used in accordance with the detection result, or performed such that the positions of print data are exchanged.
