摘要: A turbo blood pump includes a housing 1 having a pump chamber 2, an inlet port 3, and an outlet port 4, an impeller 5 disposed rotatably in the pump chamber, an upper bearing 9 and a lower bearing 10 supporting the impeller rotatably, and a driving force transmitting unit for driving the impeller to rotate. The upper bearing is supported at a position in the pump chamber below the inlet port, so that a cross-sectional area of the pump chamber in a plane including an upper end of the upper bearing and being orthogonal to a shaft of the impeller is larger than a cross-sectional area of a flow path of the inlet port at a portion where the inlet port is coupled to the pump chamber, and thus obstruction with respect to blood flow by the upper bearing is of such a degree as to be permissible from a practical viewpoint, while an impeller is supported by upper and lower bearings. Thereby, the pump is less likely to cause problems of blood stagnation and thrombus formation.

摘要: The present invention relates to an iontophoresis device, which can ensure the long-term stability of a drug and makes the operations for assemblage upon application easy as well as a method of assembling the device. A backing layer (4) is provided with a drug-dissolving portion (11) on a donor electrode-printed portion (6) thereof and a drug support (14) removably contacts with the drug-dissolving portion. A liner (12) is disposed on the backing layer on the skin (40) side and this is peeled off upon practical use. An opening (15) is formed on the liner (12) and an opening (5) is formed on an electrode portion (Ib). When assembling the device, these openings coincide with each other to thus easily and precisely dispose the drug support (14) on the drug-dissolving portion (11).

摘要: An apparatus for removing developer from a developer carrier includes a developer-charge-eliminating means including a first elastic member. The first elastic member is electrically conductive and contacts the developer carrier with an uneven surface. Preferably, the uneven surface includes exposed cells of a foamed body. The uneven surface of the first elastic member insures that sufficient contact and frictional resistance is applied to excess developer on a developer carrier. Preferably, the first elastic body is backed by a backing member which is more flexible than the first elastic member. The flexible second elastic body further insures that the charge-eliminating member sufficiently contacts the developer carried by the developer carrier even with extended use.

摘要: A percutaneous or permucosal patch drug preparation. The preparation includes: (1) a backing layer impermeable to a drug component, (2) a drug storage layer which holds the drug component therein and is situated under the central portion of the backing layer, (3) a protective film which is impermeable to the drug component, has notches and is situated under the drug storage layer and the peripheral portion of the backing layer, (4) a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer which is situated under the protective film, and (5) a releasable liner layer which is impermeable to the drug component and situated under the pressure-sensitive layer. When the releasable liner layer is peeled off of the preparation, the protective film is torn along the notches and the portion of the protective film surrounded by the notches is removed together with the releasable liner layer and a portion of the adhesive between the protective film and the releasable liner layer. The patch drug preparation is held on the skin or mucosa of a patient by the pressure-sensitive adhesive remaining on the peripheral portion of the protective film. The drug held in the drug storage layer is released directly to the mucosa or to the skin.
