A coding manner switching method is provided. The method includes acquiring, by a transmit end, state information of the transmit end and/or a receive end, where the state information comprises central processing unit (CPU) usage, a network bandwidth, and electricity amount information that are of the transmit end and/or the receive end, and information about media content to be sent by the transmit end; determining whether the state information meets a preset condition, and switching a coding manner of the media content if the state information meets the preset condition; and notifying the receive end of the coding manner of the media content of the transmit end, so that the receive end determines a decoding manner of the media content according to the coding manner of the media content.
Abstract:
The present invention is applicable to the field of digital home networks and provides a method and apparatus for media information access control, and a digital home multimedia system. The method includes aggregating media information and access rights information of the media information on a first media server. The method also includes returning, to a control device that sends a media access request, a media information list which the control device has rights to access. The media information list is returned according to the aggregated media information and the aggregated access rights information of the media information. The present invention ensures security of the media information in the digital home multimedia system when the media information in the digital home multimedia system is aggregated for browsing.

A media playback processing and control method, apparatus, and system are provided. The processing method includes: receiving, by a central server, a query request of a control device, and returning a query response to the control device according to a resource information table; receiving a resource request of a selected display device selected by the control device; and querying the resource information table, determining that a selected media resource corresponding to information about a selected storage path is stored on a first media server (MS), and determining a second MS with a conversion capability to convert a media format of the selected media resource into a media format supported by a playback capability of the selected display device, so as to enable the selected display device to play a media resource converted by the second MS from the selected media resource.

The present invention discloses a method and an apparatus for controlling a user equipment. The method includes: obtaining a first static picture of the user equipment; obtaining, according to the first static picture, feature information of the first static picture; obtaining an equipment identity of the user equipment according to the feature information; and controlling the user equipment according to the equipment identity. The apparatus includes a first obtaining module, a second obtaining module, a third obtaining module and a control module. According to the method and apparatus in embodiments of the present invention, a static picture of the user equipment is obtained, and the equipment identity of the user equipment is obtained according to the static picture, so that the user equipment can be controlled according to the equipment identity, and a user can quickly, accurately and intuitively determine the user equipment to be controlled, thereby improving user experience.

A method and a device for transmitting media data are provided, where a device sending the media data and a device receiving the media data are currently located in a same wireless network, and the method includes: acquiring, by the sending device, a frequency band of the wireless network; determining, by the sending device, whether the frequency band of the wireless network is a set frequency band; and if yes, setting a media data encoding mode of the sending device to non-compression, and sending, by the sending device, media data that is not compressed to the receiving device; or if the frequency band of the wireless network is not the set frequency band, setting a media data encoding mode of the sending device to compression, and sending, by the sending device, media data that is compressed to the receiving device. This solution reduces a delay caused by compression, reduces resources consumed by the sending device for data compression.

The method includes: creating a batch management group according to a batch management group creation rule and device information in a network; receiving a batch management command sent by an auto-configuration server for devices in the batch management group; determining a device that needs to be managed in the batch management group according to the batch management command; converting the batch management command into a command supported by the device that needs to be managed; and sending the command supported by the device that needs to be managed to the device that needs to be managed. The method implements batch management of devices in a network covered by a gateway.

The present invention provides a media playback method, where a control point controls a media playback device to play a first media, where the control point acquires a resolution supported by the media playback device; acquires, according to the resolution supported by the media playback device, address information of the first media to be sent to the media playback device; and sends the address information of the first media to the media playback device, so that the media playback device plays the first media according to the address information of the first media. Embodiments of the present invention are advantageous because the control point can select, according to the resolution supported by the media playback device, a media resource of a corresponding resolution, and push the media resource of the corresponding resolution to the media playback device.
