Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for compatibility with a VDSL2 legacy customer premises equipment, including: selecting tones in preset locations from tones of a legacy line as training tones; controlling the training tones not to transmit data and modulating a pilot sequence on the training tones; calculating and feeding back clipped errors on a Vectored line; and calculating coefficients, for the training tones, of crosstalk of the legacy line in the Vectored line according to the pilot sequence and the clipped errors. The embodiments of the present invention further provide an apparatus and a system for compatibility with a VDSL2 legacy customer premises equipment.

A channel transmission characteristic obtaining method and apparatus, where the method includes obtaining transmission characteristic curves of at least two channels in a cable modem in a channel scanning manner, where the at least two channels form one contiguous frequency band, and frequencies corresponding to the transmission characteristic curves of the at least two channels include frequency values on a same order of magnitude, and amplitude values on a same order of magnitude, translating the transmission characteristic curves of the channels in an amplitude direction, to make amplitudes corresponding to same frequencies on all transmission characteristic curves overlapped in order to form one continuous curve, and setting the continuous curve as a transmission characteristic curve of the contiguous frequency band.

The present invention provides a method and an apparatus for training a Vector coefficient of a vectored digital subscriber line, where the method includes: after a handshake phase is executed for a joining line, calculating, by using a pilot estimation method, an initial precoding coefficient and an initial cancellation coefficient that represent interference from the joining line to a normal working line; and after a channel discovery phase is executed for the joining line, compensating the initial precoding coefficient and the initial cancellation coefficient by using a compensation factor, to obtain a precoding coefficient and a cancellation coefficient that represent the interference from the joining line to the normal working line, wherein the compensation factor is obtained according to a signal power change or a signal phase change of the joining line. The present invention improves efficiency of Vector coefficient training.

Embodiments of the present invention relate to the field of communication technologies, and in particular, to a method, an apparatus, and a system for processing signals based on a twisted pair. The method for processing signals based on a twisted pair includes: determining a signal processing manner; performing, according to the signal processing manner, digital processing on signals of the extended channels that are to be sent to convert the signals of the extended channels into common mode signals of each twisted pair; and sending the converted common mode signals of the each twisted pair to corresponding twisted pairs for transmission.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a power control method, device, and system, and relate to the field of communications technologies. The method is applied to a vectoring system, where the vectoring system includes multiple lines, each line includes multiple subcarriers, and for each subcarrier, a crosstalk channel is formed between the multiple lines, and the method includes: obtaining a closed subcarrier set of the multiple lines according to line crosstalk channel information corresponding to each subcarrier of the multiple subcarriers, where the closed subcarrier set includes a subcarrier set required to be closed on the multiple lines; and sending the closed subcarrier set of the multiple lines to a transceiver, and closing, by the transceiver, a transmit signal on a subcarrier required to be closed on each line.

The present invention provides a method, an apparatus, and a system for reducing digital subscriber line interference. The method includes identifying at least one legacy digital subscriber line in a digital subscriber line DSL legacy line set, obtaining a target power spectral density mask value of the legacy digital subscriber line, and reducing power spectral density of a transmit signal on the legacy digital subscriber line according to the target power spectral density mask value.

A failure analysis method and device, where the method includes obtaining a frequency domain response amplitude of a channel from a hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) network, performing linear fitting on an effective portion of the frequency domain response amplitude to determine a channel slope value, and performing channel failure analysis according to the channel slope value. Failure analysis is performed according to the obtained channel slope value, and the channel slope value is a new failure analysis parameter. In this way, means of channel failure analysis increase, and channel failure analysis is more accurate.

The present invention discloses a parameter obtaining method and apparatus. In this method, multiple signals are received over a communications link on a network, where each of the received signals is corresponding to a point on a complex plane; decision is performed on each of the received signals; for each of the received signals, an error signal between the received signal and a corresponding decision signal is determined; and a complex-plane distribution feature parameter used to indicate a distribution feature, on the complex plane, of the signals received over the communications link is determined according to all the determined error signals. In this method, an inaccurate maintenance result in manual analysis of a constellation diagram is avoided.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for activating a DSL. The method includes: sending, by a central office equipment, a sync frame period indication message to a customer premises equipment, where a sync frame period indicated by the sync frame period indication message is smaller than a specified sync frame period threshold; receiving a reply message sent by the customer premises equipment in response to the sync frame period indication message, where the reply message indicates whether the customer premises equipment accepts the sync frame period indicated by the sync frame period indication message; and if the reply message indicates that the customer premises equipment accepts the sync frame period, performing, by the central office equipment, vectoring training by using a corresponding sync frame within the sync frame period. The embodiments of the present invention further provide corresponding equipments, a system, and a program product.
