A method includes: receiving from a base station, a first MAC layer configuration parameter corresponding to a first MAC entity and a second MAC layer configuration parameter corresponding to a second MAC entity, each comprising a set of mapping and a MAC-layer related parameter corresponding to the set of mapping; executing the mapping corresponding to each MAC entity; and independently executing a MAC layer function based on the MAC layer-related parameter corresponding to each MAC entity.
