Abstract: Embodiments provide an optical coupling apparatus, an optical module, and a communications device. In those embodiments, the optical coupling apparatus includes: an optical fiber component, including a plurality of optical fibers and an optical fiber fixing block. The plurality of optical fibers are fixed to the optical fiber fixing block. A first end face is disposed on the optical fiber fixing block. At least some of the optical fibers include plug ends which protrude from the first end face. An optical write waveguide block, including a main body and a plurality of waveguides disposed in the main body. A second end face is disposed on the main body, coupling holes that are in a one-to-one correspondence with the plug ends are disposed on the second end face in a recessed manner, and the coupling holes are formed when ends of the waveguides are recessed from the second end face.

Abstract: An apparatus for optical processing of a signal includes an optical sampler, an optical neural network and a phase shift controller. The optical sampler obtains parallel optical samples by sampling a continuous optical signal. The optical neural network optically processes the parallel optical samples and provides a final output optical signal resulting from the processing. The optical neural network includes interconnected optical neurons. Each of the optical neurons inputs multiple optical signals and outputs an optical signal which is a weighted sum of the input optical signals. The weightings are established by phase-shifting the input optical signals prior to the summation. The phase shift controller controls the phase-shifting so as to obtain required weightings for the input optical signals.

Abstract: An optical coupling apparatus and method are described. An embodiment of an optical coupling apparatus may include a first optical chip, a second optical chip, and an optical writing waveguide block. In the apparatus, the first optical chip is coupled to the optical writing waveguide block in a first coupling manner, and the second optical chip is coupled to the optical writing waveguide block in a second coupling manner. Furthermore, in the apparatus, the first optical chip is optically interconnected to the second optical chip by using the optical writing waveguide block. Compatibility between a plurality of coupling manners is therefore enabled by using the technical solutions described herein.

Abstract: An optical transceiver and a network device are provided. The optical transceiver includes a common end module and two data submodules. The common end module includes a multi-carrier light source, a wavelength division multiplexer, a wavelength division demultiplexer, an external optical interface, and two first beam splitters. Each data submodule includes a second beam splitter, an optical/electrical signal modulator, and an optical receiver. According to the optical transceiver and the network device, a high-capacity optical transceiver with a single optical interface can be implemented, so that optical interface management complexity is reduced, and a fiber resource is reduced.
