Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems are disclosed for multi-hop relays that may be implemented by advertising first relaying capabilities and a first number of hops to reach a remote wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), receiving second relaying capabilities and a second number of hops to reach the remote WTRU from a selected relay WTRU, updating a relay capabilities table based on the second relaying capabilities and the second number of hops, receiving a packet comprising a payload, the packet having a traffic type and further comprising a maximum number of hops, selecting the selected relay WTRU based on the traffic type, the maximum number of hops, and the relay capabilities table, generating a first updated packet comprising the payload, the traffic type and a first updated number of hops that is one less than the maximum number of hops, and transmitting the first updated packet to the selected relay WTRU.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses directed to non-access stratum procedures in connection with layer 2 relaying are provided. Abstract: Systems, methods and instrumentalities are described herein that provide security and/or privacy support for wireless transmit receive units (WTRUs) communicating via a WTRU to WTRU relay. A source WTRU may obtain a new IP address from a relay WTRU via a link identifier update request. The source WTRU may indicate to the relay WTRU which one or more target WTRUs are to be informed of the new IP address. The source WTRU may indicate to the relay WTRU whether the target WTRU's ID(s) should be changed. The relay WTRU may send the source WTRU's new IP address to authorized target WTRUs. The source, relay, and target WTRU may use tokens to grant or receive authorizations for sharing each other's IP addresses.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses for sidelink communication are disclosed. A WTRU may receive a first SCI element from a second WTRU within a group. The WTRU may receive a first RCI element within a first set of resources scheduled by the first SCI. The first RCI may include information about which WTRU in the group is scheduled to use a second set of resources. The WTRU may determine, based on the first RCI, that one or more subresources within the second set of resources are available. The WTRU may transmit data in the one or more subresources. The first SCI and the first RCI may be received in a first reservation period and the one or more subresources may be in a second reservation period.

Abstract: A method and apparatus to address changes in quality of service in a communication link between two user equipment devices includes establishing the communication link between a first user equipment device and a peer user equipment device, where the communication link services an application executing on the first user equipment. The first user equipment device monitors a current quality of service on the communication link and detects a condition wherein the current quality of service may not be met. Adjusted configuration parameters for the application and new quality of service parameters for the communication link are determined. The adjusted configuration parameters are applied to the application and the new quality of service parameters are applied to the communication link.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for unicast and/or multicast link establishment and maintenance. A wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) may send a link establishment request broadcast message, wherein in the link may be for multicast, unicast, or groupcast. The WTRU may receive a link establishment response broadcast message and a connectivity report. The WTRU may then send a link establishment confirmation broadcast message once a multicast or unicast link has been established, at which point the WTRU may send and receive a multicast message. The link establishment request message may be sent based on one or more triggers: receiving a QoS flow, needing a new sidelink radio bearer, determining that a new QoS flow or radio bearer requires network controlled admission control, and/or receive a unicast and/or multicast establishment request. The WTRU may transmit a unicast and/or multicast usability signal (UMUS). The WTRU may preempt the established multicast or unicast link.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities associated with providing and/or receiving a multicast-broadcast service (MBS) in a wireless communication system are described herein. A network relay may be used to facilitate the provision of the MBS to a remote wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). The network relay may request network authorization to join the MBS on behalf of the remote WTRU. The network relay may include an identifier of the remote WTRU and information regarding the multicast group that the remote WTRU desires to join in the authorization request. The network relay may inform the remote WTRU about an authorization response received from the network, and may forward MBS traffic to the remote WTRU if authorization is granted. The network relay may broadcast an MBS relay support indication to one or more remote WTRUs. The network relay may receive a group paging monitor request from a remote WTRU and may monitor group paging messages for the remote WTRU in response.

Abstract: A method for changing layer 2 (L2) identifiers (ID)s during an ongoing vehicle-to-everything session between a source wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and a peer WTRU includes communicating between the source and a peer WTRUs based on existing L2 IDs and an existing session ID. On a condition that a trigger event occurs, the source WTRU and the peer WTRU each generate new L2 IDs as well as respective portions of a new session ID. The new L2 IDs are subsequently used along with the new session ID to increase privacy of communication between the source WTRU and the peer WTRU.
