Abstract: Systems, methods and instrumentalities may be provided for handling a user plane in a wireless communication system. The wireless communication system may be characterized by a flexible air interface. One aspect of the flexible air interface is that transmissions by a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) in the system may have different quality of service (QoS) requirements, such as different latency requirements. The WTRU may adjust its behaviors based on the QoS requirements, e.g., by utilizing preconfigured resources, resource requests, self-scheduling, and/or the like, such that the transmissions may be performed in accordance with their respective QoS requirements.

Abstract: A WTRU may determine that a LTE cell at least partially overlaps in frequency with an NR cell. The WTRU may determine that an NR transmission is to be received within a set of resources that are included in at least a portion of the NR cell that at least partially overlaps with the LTE cell. The WTRU may determine a subset of resources within the set of resources that correspond to an LTE common transmission. The WTRU may receive the NR transmission within the set of resources. The NR transmission may not be included in the subset of resources that correspond to the LTE common transmission. The LTE common transmission may include one or more of a common control signal, a cell-specific broadcast signal, cell-specific reference signals, a physical downlink control channel, a primary synchronization signal, a secondary synchronization signal, and/or a channel state information reference signal.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for sidelink transmit-receive distance related determinations are disclosed herein. In one example, a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) may be configured with an associate between range information and zone configuration. The WTRU receive an indication of a specific range information requirement and determine its own zone location based on the configured information and location means (e.g., GPS). The WTRU may also receive zone location information of a transmitting device, and determine the distance between the WTRU and the transmitting device.

Abstract: One or more techniques for beamformed paging are disclosed. A transmission/reception point (TRP) may transmit a paging inquiry signal using beam sweeping in a paging inquiry (PI) block with a different time, frequency resource set and/or sequence configuration associated with the same paging occasion (PO), for example, to randomize and/or distribute WTRUs into different monitoring groups. A WTRU may transmit an uplink paging inquiry response indicating a downlink beam for a paging data transmission and/or a WTRU ID. A downlink control and/or a data channel transmission may be triggered by a paging inquiry response transmission. Paging downlink control information may be transmitted in a WTRU-specific control channel, which may contain CRC bits masked by a temporary paging identity, e.g., based on a WTRU ID that may be reported in a paging inquiry response transmission. A WTRU paging procedure may be based on a paging inquiry signal and/or response transmission.

Abstract: A method and system for flexible resource control for a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) is disclosed. The WTRU may monitor a first control channel region and receive a first control channel transmission in the first control region indicating boundaries of a plurality of numerology blocks of a carrier. The WTRU may then receive a second control channel transmission in a second control channel of a second control region, wherein the second control channel transmission indicates one or more numerology parameters for at least one of the plurality of numerology blocks. The WTRU may then transmit or receive data based on the one or more numerology parameters of the one or more numerology blocks.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for selecting a resource for transmission may be performed by a WTRU. The method may comprise determining a priority of a data packet and determining a CBR of a resource pool. The WTRU may set a backoff counter to an initial backoff value, in accordance with at least one of the priority of the packet or the CBR. A CCA may be performed in a plurality of resource slots to determine whether the resource slots are available. The backoff counter may be decreased by the number of available resources in each slot. When the backoff counter reaches a threshold value, which may be set at 0, the resource for transmission may be randomly selected. The WTRU may then transmit data to another WTRU on the randomly selected resource.

The RRC message may comprise information that indicates an association between each of a plurality of beams and power information. The WTRU is configured to receive a trigger message. The WTRU is configured to select a beam in response to the received trigger message. The WTRU is configured to send a control channel transmission using a power level. The power level may be based on the power information mapped to the selected beam.

The RUL and SUL carriers may be associated with a common downlink (DL) carrier of a serving cell. The WTRU may include a processor configured to select data from one or more logical channels for transmission in accordance with the allocations. The WTRU may include a transmitter configured to transmit data from one logical channel on the RUL carrier and to transmit data from another logical channel on the SUL carrier in accordance with the allocations.

Abstract: Methods to perform, maintain and report measurements on a transmission-reception point (TRP) using limited reference signal transmission are described herein. The mobility measurement reports may utilize physical channels. Methods to obtain measurements on neighbor TRPs using limited RS transmissions are also described herein. Random-Access procedures to enable the addition of a neighbor TRP or handover without requiring higher layer signaling (and possibly without an interface between source and target TRP) are also described herein. New triggers to perform RA in order to decrease handover latency are also described herein. Wireless Transmit/Receive Unit (WTRU) behavior upon receiving RAR from multiple possible TRPs are also described herein. For example, a WTRU may store RAR information and use it later in an interrupted RA procedure.
