Abstract: The systems and methods disclosed herein provide determination of an orientation of a feature towards a reference target. As a non-limiting example, a system consistent with the present disclosure may include a processor, a memory, and a single camera affixed to the ceiling of a room occupied by a person. The system may analyze images from the camera to identify any objects in the room and their locations. Once the system has identified an object and its location, the system may prompt the person to look directly at the object. The camera may then record an image of the user looking at the object. The processor may analyze the image to determine the location of the user's head and, combined with the known location of the object and the known location of the camera, determine the direction that the user is facing. This direction may be treated as a reference value, or “ground truth.” The captured image may be associated with the direction, and the combination may be used as training input into an application.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus to transition between 2D and 3D renderings of augmented reality content are disclosed. An example apparatus includes at least one processor to execute instructions to: determine a first intended movement of an augmented reality (AR) object projected onto a first surface in a real world environment; cause the AR object to be rendered to appear to move along the first surface at a fixed depth defined by the first surface; determine a second intended movement of the AR object projected onto a second surface in the real world environment; and cause the AR object to be rendered to appear to move with variable depth within a 3D virtual space, the 3D virtual space defined by the second surface and a virtual rear boundary, the virtual rear boundary to virtually extend behind the second surface from a perspective of a user.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to systems, apparatuses, and processes to identify one or more physical surfaces within a mixed reality environment, determine visually reflective properties, respectively, of the one or more physical surfaces, and based upon the determined visually reflective properties, determined for an image to be projected out location in the mixed reality environment, characteristics of a reflection of the image in one of the one or more physical surfaces. Subsequent projections of the image in the location of the mixed reality environment may take into consideration the characteristics determined. Other embodiments may recommend or edit the image to be projected to optimize reflections of the image within the mixed reality environment. Other embodiments may be disclosed and/or claimed.

At least a portion of the second display is capable of being visible when the first display is rotated about the hinge to the closed position. The portion of the second display is multiple times longer in a third direction than in a fourth direction perpendicular to the third direction, the third direction extending parallel to an axis of rotation of the hinge.
