Abstract: A validation method applied to sensor data prior to submitting to a blockchain, a computer program product, and a system for validating chemical data. One embodiment may comprise receiving a sensor captured result at an application, applying the sensor captured result to a domain-specific statistical model of expected range of variability of measured results to extract a distribution of expected sensor values, computing a confidence value in the sensor captured result using the domain-specific statistical model, validating the confidence value against a required threshold of confidence, and submitting the sensor captured result for appending to the blockchain if the confidence level is validated against the threshold of confidence.

A cover element is arranged above the strip housing element and includes a machine-readable test identifier on an upper surface. A removably attached filtering element is arranged on the hydrophobic paper-based strip housing element.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method, computer program product and prototyping platform creates a design blueprint for a substrate-based microfluidic device. A design and prototyping platform receives at least one blueprint parameter and at least one constraint associated with a proposed substrate-based microfluidic device including a hydrophilic material and arrangement of a pattern of a hydrophobic material. The platform determines an arrangement of a plurality of microfluidic device elements as candidates for implementation of the proposed substrate-based microfluidic device and outputs a design blueprint of the proposed substrate-based microfluidic device.

Abstract: A multiplexed lateral flow device includes an impermeable internal reservoir having an opening to receive a sample deposition. A fluid distributor pad is arranged in fluid communication with a lower surface of the internal reservoir. The fluid distributor pad includes a paper based microfluidic element having a pattern of a hydrophobic material to distribute a portion of the sample deposition substantially equally among a plurality of flow paths. Lateral flow assays having a plurality of flow lines are aligned with flow paths of the distributor pad. An impermeable top cover has a first window arranged over the opening of the internal reservoir, and at least a second window arranged over the test results of the lateral flow assays. A housing element houses the reservoir, the distributor pad and lateral flow assays. The housing element includes an impermeable bottom cover and a spacer element arranged between the top and bottom covers and, provides a gap between the lateral flow assays and the impermeable top cover.

Abstract: Method, apparatus, and computer program product are provided for anonymized diagnosis using lateral flow assays. In some embodiments, a test card includes one or more lateral flow assay (LFA) with one or more test patterns (e.g., full line, partial line, dot), one or more dummy patterns, and one or more control patterns. To visually encode LFA results, at manufacture, one or more lines/dots containing true results of the LFA(s) each has a position mixed with other “dummy” lines/dots, in randomized position patterns selected from among a plurality of possible position patterns. An optical machine-readable representation of data (e.g., QR code) is attached to the test card and encodes test card identification information (e.g., lot number, serial number, test type) associated with the test card. In some embodiments, a passcode card having a scrapeable coating that conceals a passcode associated with the test card is removably attached to the test card.

Abstract: Devices and methods for controlling collection of liquid sample are described. In an example, a microfluidic device can include an analytical device and an actuator. The actuator can be connected to the analytical device. The actuator can be operable to absorb fluid. The actuator can guide the absorbed fluid to an input layer of the analytical device. The actuator can deform in response to an occurrence of an absorption condition. A degree of deformation of the actuator indicates a volume of fluid collected by the analytical device.

Abstract: Fabricating a fluid testing device includes receiving a substrate, and applying a pattern of hydrophobic material to the substrate. The substrate is positioned between layers of a thermally reflective material. Heat and pressure is applied to the substrate and thermally reflective material to reflow the pattern of hydrophobic material. A protective coating is applied over a portion of the substrate to form the fluid testing device.
