    Abstract: A fastener system includes a bar, a knob, a bushing, and a washer. The bar extends along an axis and includes a catch at one end and a head at the other end, where the head includes an inclined face. The knob is configured to engage with the catch to prevent relative rotation between the knob and the bar and to prevent separation of the knob and the bar along the axis. The bushing is comprised of an elastomeric material that is positioned around the bar between the catch and the head, where the bushing includes a flange facing the knob. The washer is positioned around the bar between the bushing and the head, where the washer includes an inclined face that contacts the other inclined face. The coefficient of friction between the bushing and the washer is higher than the coefficient of friction between the washer and the head.

    Abstract: A multi-axial catch comprises a mount and a catch body coupled to the mount. The mount affixes the catch to a frame and the catch body has a recess to position a latch head of a latch within the recess to engage the latch with the catch. The catch can include a cam to form the recess. The catch rotates around a rotation axis in response to a longitudinal motion of the latch. The catch body is coupled to the mount to allow the catch body to rotate around a pivot axis in response to a transverse motion of the latch. The catch includes an elastic coupler to position the catch in a rotational at-rest position and an elastic coupler to position the catch-body in a transverse at-rest position. The recess allows the latch head to move laterally, in response to a lateral motion of the latch, within the catch.

    Abstract: In an approach to predicting connector wear over time, a computer retrieves a first global finite element model associated with an electronic assembly, wherein the electronic assembly includes at least one connector pair. The computer retrieves test data associated with at least one vibration test of the electronic assembly. The computer runs the first global finite element model with the retrieved test data. The computer determines connector displacement versus time data of the at least one connector pair. The computer retrieves a local finite element model associated with the at least one connector pair. The computer determines a wear coefficient associated with the at least one connector pair. The computer runs the local finite element model with the connector displacement versus time data and with the wear coefficient. The computer determines wear over time of at least one contact of the at least one connector pair.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for inducing multiaxial vibrations to simulate an environment for transporting a stack of products is provided. A lower platform is provided for inducing uniaxial vibrations. A link is connected to the lower platform by a lower end of the link. The upper end of the link has a universal joint, through which the link is connected to an upper platform. The upper platform has a top surface, on which the stack of products can be placed. In operations, the uniaxial vibrations of the lower platform are transferred to the upper platform through the link and the universal joint, to induce pivotal movement of the upper platform with respect to the shaft of the link. As a result, multiaxial vibrations can be induced to the stack of products placed on the top surface of the upper platform.

    Abstract: A system to improve an in-line memory module may include an edging carried by the in-line memory module to stiffen, support, protect, and/or aid in handling the in-line memory module. The system may also include guide ribs carried by the edging to facilitate positioning of the in-line memory module during installation. In one embodiment, the system includes a heat spreader to aid in cooling a plurality of heat sources carried by the in-line memory module.
