Abstract: Techniques for implementing aging compensation for a display are described. An example of an electronic device includes a display comprising pixels, each pixel comprising one or more Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs). The electronic device also includes a display aging compensation unit to receive input frame data corresponding to content to be displayed, adjust the input frame data to generate output frame data based on a degree of aging of the LEDs, and send the output frame data to the display. The electronic device also includes a display aging monitoring and compensation processing unit to accumulate aging data that describes the degree of aging of the LEDs. The aging data is to be accumulated by sampling the output frame data at a sampling rate that varies depending on a type of the content to be displayed.

Abstract: Apparatus, systems, or methods for mixed reality are disclosed herein. An apparatus may include an optical structure, a display structure, and a controller coupled to the optical structure and the display structure. The optical structure may be controlled by a first electrical signal to act as a transparent glass to present a natural view, or to act as a magnifying glass to present a virtual view. The display structure may be controlled by a second electrical signal to act as an opaque display or a transparent display. In addition, the controller may control the apparatus to operate in at least an AR mode to interlace the natural view and the virtual view. Other embodiments may also be described and claimed.

Abstract: Example display power management control circuitry is to determine a baseline image quality parameter associated with a baseline display power mode based on: a baseline first relationship parameter associated with a first relationship between original and boosted pixel values; a baseline percentage of pixels having a color value; and a baseline second relationship parameter associated with a second relationship between the numbers of original pixel values and boosted pixel values; determine a value of a subsequent first relationship parameter based on an adjusted second relationship parameter and a second percentage of pixels having the color value; determine a second image quality parameter associated with the subsequent first relationship parameter, the adjusted second relationship parameter, and the second percentage of pixels; and select the subsequent first relationship parameter and the adjusted second relationship parameter based on comparing the second image quality parameter to the baseline image quality parameter.
