Abstract: A medical device includes a device body and an insufflation fitting coupled to and extending from the device body. The insufflation fitting includes an annular low-flow fitting and an annular high-flow fitting. The annular low-flow fitting includes a radially outward surface generally reverse of a first inner sealing surface. The inner sealing surface defines a flow passageway for insufflation gas. The annular high-flow fitting includes a second inner sealing surface extending around and radially offset from the radially outward surface of the low-flow fitting.

Abstract: A needle driver device comprises a needle track defining a curved path and a drive system configured to operably engage with and drive a needle along the needle track. The drive system comprises a first drive member, a second drive member, and a needle driver link. The first drive member is rotatable about a first drive member axis, and the second drive member is rotatable about a second drive member axis spaced apart from the first drive member axis. The needle driver link comprises a distal end portion removably engageable with a needle that is positionable in the needle track, the distal end portion being movable along an arcuate-shaped path proximate the needle track. Each of the plurality of ports includes a seal, which is sized and shaped to seal an outer surface of a cannula and to fix a position of the cannula relative to the port and the envelope.

Abstract: Disclosed are medical devices for surgical procedures, especially procedures that involve the manipulation of surgical instrument end effectors close to the skin surface at an incision site. In accordance with some embodiments, an instrument access device is configured to couple to a wound retractor at a distal end of the device and to receive a multiple instrument entry guide in a port at the proximal end of the instrument access device, with an envelope between the distal and proximal ends defining a sealed cavity for maintaining insufflation pressure. Various embodiments provide means for rotating an assistant port in the envelope about a port that receives the instrument entry guide without twisting the envelope. Also disclosed are various envelope shapes. Also disclosed is an instrument entry guide that aligns surgical instrument shafts.
