摘要: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media with executable instructions stored thereon for determining root cause are provided. A method for determining root cause can include receiving values for at least one performance metric for each of a plurality of components of an IT system to establish a normal value for each of the performance metrics, receiving an abnormal value that differs from the normal value for at least one of the plurality of components of the IT system, and determining a probability that the at least one of the plurality of components of the IT system is a root cause of the abnormal value.

摘要: To determine a seasonal effect in temporal data, for each of a plurality of candidate seasons, the following is performed. An interval is defined for the corresponding candidate season. The interval is divided into plural buckets containing respective sets of the temporal data, and statistical measures for corresponding buckets are computed. The computed statistical measures are used to compute a score for the corresponding candidate season. Scores computed for corresponding candidate seasons are used for identifying which of the candidate seasons represents the seasonal effect of the temporal data.

摘要: A method for diagnosing system health with system event logs is provided. The method includes receiving a plurality of event logs and health indicator states from a system; transducing the plurality of event logs into numeric-based metrics of the system; and deriving, based on the transduced numeric-based metrics, at least one model of the system that correlates the plurality of event logs to the corresponding health indicator states.

摘要: A computer system includes a signature creation engine operable to determine signatures representing states of a computer resource from metrics for the computer resource. The computer system also includes a database operable to store the signatures along with an annotation for each signature including information relating to a state of the computer resource. The computer system is operable to determine a recurrent problem of the computer resource from stored signatures.

摘要: A method comprises receiving, by learning logic, historical metrics of a computing system being monitored. The learning logic determines, from the received historical metrics, forms of sub-functions that are included in an equation, wherein each sub-function represents a dependency between two components linked in a hierarchical structure representing the computing system being monitored. State determination logic receives metric values of the computing system being monitored, and determines states that minimize the equation composed of the sub-functions over the received metric values. Finally, anomalous behavior of the computing system may be detected based on the determined states.

摘要: A method is described that involves creating a private key and a public key cryptographic key pair, generating a unique and random identifier for a voter's vote and accepting an election vote from said voter. The vote and identifier are electronically signed with the private key to create a digital signature. The vote and identifier are provided in a human readable format to the voter.

摘要: A technique for controlling an output of a computing system having multiple adjustable inputs includes providing a set of adjustable inputs to the computing system, observing an output of the computing system while the system is in operation, and selecting a subset of adjustable inputs from the set of adjustable inputs based on the observation of the output. The inputs in the selected subset are then adjusted to achieve a desired output of the computing system.
