    摘要: A pinion shifting mechanism of an automotive engine starter is disclosed in which the pivot support 5c of the shift lever 5 on which it turns is supported at its rear side by a resilient support means 32 instead of a rigid support surface. The shift lever operatively coupling the plunger 7 of the electromagnetic switch 4 with the pinion assembly is coupled to the plunger via an engager member 15 slidably disposed in the cylindrical bore formed in the plunger. The engager member is urged backward with respect to the plunger by a helical spring 17 disposed around the engager within the bore of the plunger. When the plunger is attracted from the initial front position toward the stationary core 8 of the electromagnetic switch, the resilient support means yields first to allow a backward translation of the pivot support of the shift lever; the spring urging the engager yields only afterwards. In another aspect, the rear as well as the front side of the pivot support of the shift lever is supported by a rigid support surface; however, the two support surfaces are disposed in such a manner that a gap 51 is formed between the rear side of the pivot support of the shift lever and the forward directed support surface 23 when the plunger is at the front position.

    摘要: A permanent magnet starting motor equipped with reduction gears has a stator frame of a D.C. motor, which constitutes the starting motor, made of a tubular member which has a bottom portion. A rotary shaft of an armature is inserted from within the D.C. motor into a penetrating hole provided in the bottom portion of the tubular member, in a manner to protrude beyond the penetrating hole. A sliding-contact engagement portion holds the bottom portion of the stator frame and the rotary shaft of the armature in engagement in an axial direction, and that the reduction gears which are driven by the rotary shaft of the armature are installed in the bottom portion.

    摘要: An engine starter apparatus comprises a housing (9), a d.c. electric motor (2), an output rotary shaft (3) with a pinion (7), and a planetary speed reduction gear (5). The planetary speed reduction gear (5) comprises a sun gear (11), an internal gear (20), a plurality of planetary gears (12) disposed between the sun gear (11) and the internal gear (20), and a planetary gear carrier (10) connected to the output rotary shaft (3) for rotatably supporting the planetary gears (12). The internal gear (20) comprises a ring-shaped internal gear member (20a), and elastic reinforcing ring member (21,22; 24) for elastically supporting the internal gear member (20a), thereby to increase rigidity of the internal gear member (20a). The reinforcing ring member may comprise a thin-wall cylindrical member (22) concentrically disposed around the internal gear member (20a) with an annulus defined therebetween, and a plurality of ribs (21) radially and axially extending through the annulus for integrally connecting them together. The reinforcing ring member may be a solid elastic ring (24). The reinforcing ring member (21,22; 24) may have formed therein an axial groove (23) for allowing a through bolt for connecting the housing and the d.c. motor to pass therethrough.

    摘要: A pulley comprising a circumferential groove which has a non-flat groove surface for increased friction against a belt to be received and a manufacturing method therefor. According to the method a pulley material is forged into a basic pulley configuration which is the shape of the material ready for forming the circumferential groove. The basic configuration comprises a plurality of axial grooves which extend in a generally axial direction over a surface of the pulley in which the circumferential groove is to be formed. Then the circumferential groove is rolling-formed in the pulley material. Thus, a non-flat groove surface for a higher friction is provided. Alternatively, the higher friction groove surface may be formed by roughening a sand blasting, shot blasting or chemical surface treatment.
