    摘要: The invention provides an image recording method and a lithographic printing method in which both high image quality and good fine line reproducibility can be achieved, and high sensitivity and safety under white light can be obtained, and the image recording method for a lithographic printing plate, which comprises imagewise exposing with an imaging time per pixel of 1 millisecond or less using a laser light with an emission wavelength of from 250 nm to 420 nm, wherein the lithographic printing plate precursor comprises a support and an image recording layer, in which the image recording layer contains (A) a polymerization initiator and (B) a polymeric compound and has an image recording layer which is photosensitive in a wavelength of from 250 nm to 420 nm, and the support has an anodized film with sealed micropores on the surface; and a lithographic printing method utilizing the same.

    摘要: The present invention provides an optical fiber having a rectangular core in which propagation loss of a light beam is small and manufacturing can be performed at low cost, a method of manufacturing the optical fiber, and an image forming apparatus including the optical fiber. The optical fiber having the core, whose sectional shape in a direction orthogonal to an optical axis direction of a light beam becomes rectangular, is formed by: filling a cylindrical tube with multiple hollow capillaries; extracting hollow capillaries located in a rectangular area having a predetermined size in a portion which is substantially central to the tube; inserting rods having the same diameter as the extracted hollow capillaries to replace the hollow capillaries to produce a preform; performing wire drawing while the preform is melt-fused; and covering the preform with a cover layer.

    摘要: An image-wise exposure apparatus comprises a light source for producing recording light, to which a photosensitive material is to be exposed, and a spatial modulation device provided with a plurality of picture elements located in the form of a two-dimensional array. The spatial modulation device raster-scans the picture elements and thereby carries out spatial modulation of the recording light. A picture element shifting device changes the optical relationship between the spatial modulation device and the photosensitive material. A controller sets all of the picture elements of the spatial modulation device to a totally closed condition for a single frame period and drives the picture element shifting device while all of the picture elements of the spatial modulation device are being in the totally closed condition. Effects of a picture element shifting operation are thereby obtained sufficiently, and image-wise exposure is carried out quickly.

    摘要: An image-wise exposure apparatus comprises a light source for producing recording light, to which a photosensitive material is to be exposed, and a spatial modulation device, which is provided with an array of picture elements and carries out spatial modulation of the recording light. A shifting device changes the optical relationship between the spatial modulation device and the photosensitive material. In cases where the number of exposure dots formed on the photosensitive material is increased by a factor of m with a picture element shifting step carried out with respect to a certain array direction of the picture elements, and the period, with which periodical nonuniformity in image density obtained by exposure occurs with respect to the array direction of the picture elements when the shifting step is not carried out, is n times as long as the pitch between the picture elements, the distance of shift of the picture elements with respect to the array direction of the picture elements is set to be approximately (n.+-.1)/m times as long as the pitch between the picture elements.

    摘要: An optical waveguide device for coupling an external wave with a guided wave by means of a grating coupler formed on an optical waveguide device which lies on a substrate. The grating coupler is further coated with a cladding layer. An external wave is transformed into a guided wave after being diffracted by a first grating coupler, and travels along the waveguide to a second grating coupler. The guided wave is then subjected to diffraction by means of the second grating coupler, whereupon a minus first-order wave is diffracted only toward the substrate, whilst other waves of higher order are respectively diffracted toward the cladding layer and the substrate. The wave diffracted toward the cladding layer is totally reflected from a cladding layer boundary furtherst from the substrate, thereby passing through the substrate. The diffracted wave thus reflected interferes with the other wave of the same order diffracted to the substrate, thereby weakening each other.

    摘要: A xeroradiographic material comprising a substrate at least one surface of which is electrically conductive, and an X-ray sensitive layer provided on the conductive surface of the substrate and essentially consisting of an organic binder, .gamma.-form crystal grains of a bismuth oxide-based compound oxide and n-type semiconductor grains dispersed in the organic binder. The material is made by dispersing these grains in an organic binder solution, applying the dispersion onto the conductive surface of the substrate, drying the coat of the dispersion at a temperature in a range not lower than the boiling point of the solvent but below the softening point of the organic binder to form an X-ray sensitive layer, and heat-treating the X-ray sensitive layer at a temperature in a range not lower than the softening point of the organic binder but below the temperature at which the organic binder begins decomposing.
