Abstract: A display unit is provided with a plurality of pixels. The plurality of pixels each include a first electrode, an insulating film, an organic layer, and a second electrode. The insulating film is provided on the first electrode, and has openings. The organic layer is provided in each of the openings of the insulating film, and includes a light-emitting layer. The second electrode is provided on the organic layer. The first electrode includes a plurality of sub-electrodes that are provided to face the respective openings of the insulating film.

The first insulating film has, between pixels adjacent in the second direction of the pixels, a second opening extending in the first direction, and a remaining part inside the second opening.

Abstract: An organic EL display panel including pixels arranged in a matrix includes: a substrate; pixel electrodes arranged above the substrate in the matrix; an insulating layer provided above the pixel electrodes and having openings for each pixel electrode; banks extending in a column direction and partitioning between the pixel electrodes in a row direction; organic functional layers provided above the pixel electrodes and including organic light emitting layers where organic electroluminescence occurs in the openings; and a light-transmissive counter electrode provided above the functional layers. The openings include: first openings arranged in line in the column direction; and a second opening adjacent to one of the first openings in the row direction. Portions of the insulating layer between the first openings adjacent in the column direction are lower in height relative to the pixel electrode than a portion of the insulating layer between the first opening and the second opening.

Abstract: Disclosed is an organic EL display panel including: a substrate; a planarization layer being disposed on an upper surface of the substrate and containing a resin material; plural pixel electrodes being disposed in a matrix manner on the planarization layer; a light emitting layer being disposed on the pixel electrodes and containing an organic luminescent material; and a common electrode covering at least an upper side of the light emitting layer and being disposed continuously in a plane direction. A recessed part is opened to extend in a column direction in at least one gap between the pixel electrodes adjacent to each other in a row direction on the planarization layer, the common electrode is disposed continuously in the recessed part, and a power feed auxiliary interconnect extending in the column direction and formed of an applied film is disposed on an upper surface of the common electrode.

Abstract: Disclosed is an organic EL display panel having pixels arranged in matrix includes a substrate, pixel electrodes disposed on the substrate for each of the pixels, insulating layers disposed so as to cover each upper part of the pixel electrodes and having not less than three slit-shaped openings extending and arranged in a column direction, partition walls extending in the column direction and partitioning the pixel electrodes in a row direction, organic functional layers disposed on the pixel electrodes and including organic luminous layers configured to cause electroluminescence in each of the openings, and light transmissive counter electrodes disposed on upper parts of the organic functional layers. Levels of top faces of the partition walls are higher than that of the insulating layers. Row-direction widths of openings adjacent to the partition walls in the row direction are larger than row-direction widths of openings not adjacent to the partition walls.

Abstract: An organic electroluminescence (EL) display panel having pixels arranged in a matrix of rows and columns includes: a substrate; pixel electrode layers that are made of a light-reflective material and are arranged on the substrate in the matrix; an insulating layer that is provided above the substrate and the pixel electrode layers; organic functional layers that are provided above the pixel electrode layers; and a light-transmissive counter electrode layer that is provided above the organic functional layers, wherein the insulating layer has a first opening and second openings for each of the pixel electrode layers, the first opening being elongated in a column direction, the second openings each being shorter than the first opening in the column direction and being lined up adjacent to the first opening, and the organic functional layers include light-emitting layers in which organic electroluminescence occurs in the first opening and the second openings.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes, a first insulating film including a recess portion having a first bottom surface and an inclined first side surface, a first electrode provided on the recess portion, a second insulating film provided on the first electrode, a light-emitting layer provided in the second insulating film and including a second bottom surface in contact with the first electrode and an inclined second side surface, and a second electrode provided on the light-emitting layer. The depth of the recess portion is greater than the thickness of the light-emitting layer, and the thickness of the second insulating film is greater than the depth of the recess portion.

Abstract: An organic light-emitting device having light-emitting portions arranged in two directions along a substrate main surface. Each light-emitting portion, in a first direction intersecting the substrate main surface, includes, disposed via a first insulating layer, a first electrode, an organic laminate, and a second electrode. In a second direction being one of the two directions along the substrate main surface, a non-light-emitting portion is present between adjacent light-emitting portions. The first electrodes of the adjacent light-emitting portions extend into the non-light-emitting portion. A second insulating layer is present between portions of the first electrodes in the non-light-emitting portion, and covers the portions of the first electrodes in the non-light-emitting portion. A height of the second insulating layer from the substrate main surface is lower than a height, from the substrate main surface, of upper surfaces of portions of the first electrodes in the light-emitting portions.

Abstract: Organic light-emitting device including light-emitting portions disposed in two intersecting directions along a substrate main surface. Each light-emitting portion, in a first direction intersecting the substrate main surface, includes first and second electrodes, a charge transport layer, and an organic light-emitting layer, and is partitioned from adjacent light-emitting portions by first banks extending in a third direction being one of the two directions and second banks extending in a second direction being the other of the two directions. Each area between adjacent first banks is covered by the charge transport and organic light-emitting layers extending continuously across the area over the second banks. The first and second banks contain insulating material, a thickness of the second banks is no greater than 20% a height of the first banks, and the second banks have a surface portion contact angle smaller than that of the first banks.
