摘要: The present invention is directed to tissue removal devices and methods. A tubular element having an open distal end is advanced into tissue so that tissue enters the tubular element. The tissue, which entered the tubular element is cut to separate the tissue from the surrounding tissue. The tissue is then transported proximally by the cutting element or a separate transport element.

摘要: An electrically activated surgical device includes a probe body, an active element and a structure for selectively electrically insulating and/or physically isolating the active element from the patient's tissue when the device is in use. The probe body defines an outer surface, a proximal end, a distal end and a window defined within the outer surface near or at the distal end. The active element is electrically connected to a power source and is configured to selectively assume a non-deployed configuration and a variable deployed configuration in which the active element at least partially emerges from the window out of the probe body. The insulating structure selectively insulates the active element from the patient's tissue when the device is inserted therein. In operation, a physician inserts the probe into the tissue, insulates the active element from the tissue (either before, during or after insertion of the probe), energizes the insulated active element using for example, radiofrequency (RF) power from the power source, and only then exposes the energized active element to the tissue. By insulating the active element during the energizing thereof, little or no current applied to the active element is dissipated in the patient's tissue, thus decreasing the time required to energize the active element and enabling lower and safer power levels to be applied to the active element during the energizing thereof.

摘要: Real time analog and digital information are simultaneously transmitted from a transmitter circuit. In the disclosed embodiment, the analog signals are obtained from ECG apparatus and the digital signals are derived by a process or from analysis of the ECG signals. The system is implemented by summing the output signals from the FM oscillator and the FSK oscillator in an amplitude summing amplifier and transmitting the result in combined waveform, preferably over a phone line, although radio transmission may alternately be used as well as other types of transmission of the resulting signal. In the present invention, the analog signal is employed to frequency modulate a frequency modulated oscillator, and the digital information signal is used to obtain frequency shift keying of a FSK oscillator. In the disclosed embodiment, the frequency modulated oscillator and the FSK oscillator have frequencies that are within the band pass of the telephone line and, of course, have sufficient separation so that the resulting output signal may be filtered and decoded to obtain the separate analog and digital components. After the FM modulated analog information signal and the digital controlled FSK signals are obtained, they are coupled to an amplitude summing amplifier which provides a single amplitude summation of the two signals as applied to the modem and thus over the phone line. In this manner, the simultaneous transmission of both analog and digital information is provided in efficient but effective system.

摘要: The present invention provides a differential-pressure transducer having two sensors cross-coupled and independently excited. A first Wheatstone Bridge pressure sensor has a first sensitivity and is excited by a first voltage. A second Wheatstone Bridge pressure sensor has a second sensitivity and is independently excited by a second voltage different from said first voltage. The excitation voltages are independently adjusted to increase or decrease the sensitivities of the sensors to substantially match. The outputs of the sensors are cross-coupled to each other to reduce the offset difference errors between the pressure sensors. Sensitive electronics are isolated within the sealed housing to protect them from harsh surrounding media. The transducer is configured to provide either a four pressure differential pressure measurement or a three pressure gauge differential pressure measurement.

摘要: The present invention provides a stable differential pressure measurement system. Two micro-machined semiconductive capacitive sensors each has a diaphragm exposed on one side and having a sealed partially evacuated chamber within the sensor on the other side of the diaphragm. A circuit corrects the slope responses and offsets of the capacitive sensor output signals to provide an accurate differential pressure measurement. Sensitive electronics are buried within the sensors and isolated within the sealed housing to protect them from harsh surrounding media. Such harsh surrounding media can be found when the system is used in an automobile exhaust system.
