Abstract:
A fastener driving apparatus having a barrel provided with a fastening element guide which is pivotally mounted about an axis orthogonal to the barrel axis in order to introduce a fastening element therein. The fastening element guide is pivotally mounted on a support secured to the barrel, and there is provided a sleeve operative to engage the guide and pivot the same, said sleeve being moveably carried on the support for translation along the barrel axis in such manner that a relative sliding movement between the sleeve and support, causes the engagement of the sleeve and the guide for pivoting of the latter.
Abstract:
A loading device for a power-actuated tool which comprises a fixed support having an open recess adapted to receive the open end of a tubular propellant charge-retaining holder. A movable charge transporter is mounted on the exterior of the tool and contains a through passage which is movable between a charge-receiving position adjacent to the fixed support recess, and a charge-loading position adjacent to the firing chamber of the tool. Charges are gravity fed from the transporter to the firing chamber. The transporter moves to and from the loading position by pivoting through a pre-existing loading port in the tool.
Abstract:
In the photochemical synthetic process in semi-continuous mode according to the invention, a reactor comprising two zones is used, the radiating portion of the lamp(s) being totally immersed in a first zone which is completely filled with reaction medium and spills off via an overflow into a second zone whose volume is sufficient to contain the volume of reaction medium originating from the first zone and corresponding substantially to the volume of the reagent(s) gradually introduced.
Abstract:
A modular electric terminal connector, in particular for a monobody defibrillation probe. This terminal includes a stacking of elementary cylindrical parts, alternatively conducting and insulating, each of which includes a central cavity receiving the sheath of a cable comprising several connection wires. An axial pin, placed on a casing at the free extremity of stacking, is connected to a respective connection wire to form an axial contact of the terminal. Rods passing through homologous borings formed in each part ensure axial and angular alignment of the various parts of stacking. The unit is solidarized by injection of an adhesive under pressure. Suitable openings make it possible to connect by laser welding the conducting elementary parts to the wires located in the sheath to form the annular contacts of the terminal.
Abstract:
Process for purifying the hydrochloric acid obtained as by-product in the synthesis of MSA, characterized in that the gaseous flow of hydrogen chloride evacuated from the top of the synthesis reactor is placed in contact in a treatment column, counter-currentwise, with a flow consisting of an aqueous solution of an acid chosen from methanesulfonic acid, hydrochloric acid or a mixture of these two acids, at a temperature of between 80 and 130° C.
Abstract:
For the preparation of lactams comprising 6 to 12 carbon atoms from the corresponding cycloalkanone oximes by rearrangement according to the Beckmann reaction in the presence of acid, the process is characterized in that use is made of methanesulphonic acid.
Abstract:
A process for the preparation of lauryllactam comprises: (a) photochemically reacting cyclododecane solubilized in an organic solvent, a nitrosing agent and hydrogen chloride in the presence of an acid in order to form cyclododecanone oxime, and (b) subjecting said oxime to a Beckmann rearrangement in the presence of an acid, said process being characterized in that the acid used comprises methanesulphonic acid.
Abstract:
For manufacturing an alkanesulphonyl chloride by photochemical reaction of an alkane with chlorine and sulphur dioxide, the light source used is a gallium-doped medium-pressure mercury lamp.
Abstract:
A fastening unit with nail anchorage, is provided including a cylindrical body with a head and a support leg. The body includes a surface parallel to its axis for guiding an anchorage nail. The leg includes an expansion surface, slanted in one direction with respect to the axis of the body, and a surface for maintaining the nail under pressure, bent back in the other direction towards the axis of the body. The expansion surface extends between the guide surface and the pressure maintenance surface.
Abstract:
Process of preparation of sulphonyl alkane halides by the reaction between an alkane, sulphur dioxide and a halogen, in the presence of ultraviolet light in the gaseous phase; the gaseous mixture of the reactants contains at least 4 moles of SO.sub.2 per mole of hydrocarbon.
