Abstract:
A fastening arrangement for a motor vehicle wheel made of a light metal alloy which is formed by an interior wheel shell and an exterior wheel shell which are fastened to a wheel disk chamber by way of wheel bolts which are arranged concentrically with respect to a wheel hub. The two shells of the wheel can be connected in a mutually sealed manner by way of wheel bolts inserted in bushes, and the bushes are pressed into bores of the shells and held in an embedded manner in a sealing mass. A spacer member is interposed between the wheel chamber and the interior wheel shell. The spacer member is made of a material different than the material of the interior wheel shell and the material of the brake chamber, to facilitate corrosion resistance.
Abstract:
A wheel for a motor vehicle comprises two shell parts, with one shell part forming a wheel spider and the other shell part forming a rim. The shell parts are fitted into one another and connected together. Air openings in the rim are provided with a cast web that is punched out precisely so that the air openings in the wheel spider are located in correspondence with the air openings in the rim and can be connected to them.
Abstract:
A wheel for a motor vehicle has a wheel spider having hollow spokes communicating a first annular duct arranged concentrically with respect to the wheel axle with a second annular duct which is formed by the wheel spider and the rim. In the area of the first annular duct, a tire inflation valve is arranged. The hollow spokes are constructed with at least one air opening in the second annular duct, for conducting air into a tire interior.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a wheel rim, in particular a spoked wheel rim for motor vehicles consisting of sheet-steel. Said rim is assembled from various parts: an inner screw-on flange (1b), a central rim ring (1a) and an external rim well (3, 4, 5). The rim ring (1a) and the screw-on flange (1b) form an inner bearing shell (1) for the main bearing load of the wheel rim. Said bearing shell (1) is covered by an external design shell (2) consisting of sheet-steel, forming a hollow chamber (7). Said design shell is connected in a fixed manner to the screw-on flange (1b) and the rim flange (3) and is configured to support an auxiliary bearing load.
Abstract:
In a wheel for a motor vehicle, the existing hollow spaces are filled with residual cores. These cores are made of a metallic foam or are of shell-shaped bodies or shell-shaped bodies filled with metallic foam. The cores are arranged in closed and open hollow spaces.
Abstract:
A wheel for a motor vehicle consists of a rim spider having air openings and of a rim well connected therewith. The wheel comprises at least two shell parts constructed as a rim well and as a rim spider with one molded-out interior and exterior wall respectively, which are connected with one another, and radially extending hollow spokes as well as at least one exterior and one interior annulus forming between meeting wall areas of adjacent air openings of the shell parts.
Abstract:
A process for manufacturing a wheel for a motor vehicle, in which a wheel spider and a rim ring are connected with one another by means of friction welding. At least one of these wheel parts consists of a magnesium alloy. The controlling of the speed of the start of the friction, of the friction and of the compression of the friction welding process, particularly of the deformation capacity, takes place as a function of physical characteristics of the magnesium alloy.
Abstract:
A wheel for a motor vehicle has a rim spider provided with air openings and a rim well connected with this rim spider. The rim well and the rim spider are formed by shell parts which each have a molded-out interior and exterior wall and which are connected with one another by at least one connection. Between abutting wall areas of adjacent air openings of the shell parts, hollow spokes are formed and at least one exterior annulus and one interior annulus. On the interior side, the wheel parts are provided with reinforcing ribs on mutually opposite surfaces. The materials used for the wheel parts are a magnesium alloy, an aluminum alloy, a steel alloy or a titanium alloy.
Abstract:
A wheel for a motor vehicle comprises a wheel spider with hollow spokes formed from a first material and a rim formed from a second material. The wheel spider is connected to the rim by way of friction welding. The wheel spider may be formed by casting and the rim may be formed by casting or forging and may be further formed by rolling. The wheel spider and the rim may be selected from the group consisting of aluminum, aluminum alloy, magnesium, magnesium alloy, titanium or titanium alloy. A process for making the vehicle wheel by forming the wheel spider from a first material and the rim from a second material and connecting the wheel spider with the rim by friction welding.
