    摘要: A method and apparatus are used to perform a Circuit Switched (CS) fallback in wireless communications. The Non-Access Stratum (NAS) of the apparatus determines whether to perform a CS fallback based on an Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) registration status, and sends a service request indicating a request to perform the CS fallback when the WTRU is attached to a CS domain. The apparatus also includes an Access Stratum (AS) that receives the CS service request from the NAS, sends an indication of the CS service request in a Radio Resource Control (RRC) message to an Evolved Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN), wherein the RRC message includes CS service information, and receives a handover command in response to the CS service request.

    摘要: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) prioritizes triggered events for the same measurement object to lessen the quantity of events which are included in measurement reports, while conveying no less information. The WTRU triggers an event, starts a time-to-trigger timer for the event, and includes the event in a measurement report. Additionally, where a WTRU measures on multiple frequencies, the event triggering is prioritized according to priorities associated with the frequencies.

    摘要: A method and apparatus are disclosed relating to ciphering and de-ciphering of packet units in wireless devices during retransmission in wireless communications. The packet units are re-segmented with the ciphering done on the re-segmented packet unit or on a radio link control protocol data unit (RLC PDU) with or without segmentation. Alternatively, the re-segmentation is done on the radio link control service data unit (RLC SDU) with or without segmentation. Alternatively, the ciphering process and multiplexing of the RLC PDU is done in the medium access control (MAC) layer of a MAC PU before undergoing a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process for retransmission. Further, the ciphering process in the RLC is done on a packet data convergence protocol packet data unit (PDCP PDU).
