摘要: A field emission device, including: a cathode substrate; a carbon nanotube array slice attached on the cathode substrate, the carbon nanotube array slice including a plurality of carbon nanotube segments arranged approximately parallel to each other, the carbon nanotube segments each having a first end and an opposite second end, the first ends thereof terminating at a common plane, and the second ends thereof being electrically connected to the cathode plant. A method for manufacturing the field emission devices based on carbon nanotube array is also provided.

摘要: A method for manufacturing a carbon nanotube composite, comprising the steps of: (a) preparing a solution of a polymer precursor; (b) immersing carbon nanotubes in the solution and ultrasonically cleaning the solution; (c) polymerizing the polymer precursor in order to obtain a polymer matrix having carbon nanotubes uniformly dispersed therein; (d) forming the polymer matrix into a composite having carbon nanotubes distributed therein by way of extrusion; and (e) elongating the composite so as to cause the carbon nanotubes to be orderly distributed therein.

摘要: A method for manufacturing carbon nanotubes with a uniform length includes the steps of: (a) forming an array of carbon nanotubes on a substrate; (b) submerging the carbon nanotubes in liquid macromolecular material; (c) solidifying the liquid macromolecular material; (d) cutting the solidified liquid macromolecular material; and (e) removing the macromolecular material to obtain the carbon nanotubes with a uniform length. The method is simple, and carbon nanotubes with a desired length can be easily obtained. The length of the carbon nanotubes can be precisely controlled. Furthermore, each carbon nanotube is open at both ends thereof.

摘要: An electrical connector includes a dielectric housing and a number of contacts. One side of the dielectric housing defines a number of through passageways for receiving the contacts. The contact includes a retention portion to secure the contact in the dielectric housing. The retention portion defines at least one sunken portion. The housing is stamped out a corresponding number of projecting portions after the contacts are inserted into the housing. The projecting portions engage into sunken portions of the contacts, thereby securing the contacts in the housing.

摘要: A method for manufacturing a thermal interface material comprising the steps of: providing a carbon nanotube array comprising a plurality of carbon nanotubes each having two opposite ends; forming a composite phase change material by filling clearances in the carbon nanotube array with a phase change material; forming a section with predetermined thickness by cutting the composite phase change material along a direction cross to an alignment direction of the carbon nanotubes; and heating up the section to a temperature higher than a phase change temperature of the phase change material and cooling down after the two opposite ends of the carbon nanotubes protruding out of the section.

摘要: A thermal interface material includes a matrix, a plurality of carbon nanotubes, and at least one phase change layer. The matrix includes a first surface and an opposite second surface. The carbon nanotubes are embedded in the matrix uniformly. The carbon nanotubes extend from the first surface to the second surface and have two opposite ends. At least one of the two opposite ends of the carbon nanotubes is exposed out of one of the first and second surfaces of the matrix. The at least one phase change layer is formed on the exposed end of the carbon nanotubes.

摘要: A thermal interface material includes a matrix and carbon nanotubes. The matrix includes a first surface and an opposite second surface. The carbon nanotubes are embedded in the matrix uniformly. The carbon nanotubes extend from the first surface to the second surface, and each carbon nanotube has two opposite ends. At least one of the two opposite ends of the carbon nanotubes are exposed out of one of the first and second surfaces of the matrix. The exposed ends of the carbon nanotubes are elastically bent/embedded in a phase change layer formed thereon.

摘要: A method for determining a border of an image includes (a) receiving a composite image including a background image and a foreground image, (b) following one geometric feature (e.g., a line) of the background image, and (c) detecting two or more breakpoints in the first geometric feature where the foreground image superimposes the geometric feature. Actions (b) and (c) are repeated to detect breakpoints for a number of the geometric features. The border of the foreground image is determined by constructing linear edges that each connects three or more breakpoints and extending the linear edges until each intersect with two other linear edges to form the border of the foreground image.An apparatus for determining a border of an image includes a scanner and a document cover. The document cover includes a blue backdrop and geometric features. The geometric features include green vertical and horizontal lines.
