摘要: An emissions control system utilizes otherwise wasted heat to efficiently reduce emissions in a main exhaust flow. Heat stored in exhaust from an auxiliary generator (i.e., auxiliary exhaust) may be used to convert urea to ammonia used by a Selective Catalytic Reducer (SCR) system, and/or the auxiliary exhaust may be used to heat the main exhaust flow before entry into an SCR. Additionally, a heat exchanger may be used to transfer heat from a hot clean flow out of the SCR, to the main exhaust flow entering the SCR. Previously, mobile emissions control systems have not used SCR systems to reduce NOx because of the cost and space required for heater fuel. The efficient use of otherwise wasted heat reduces fuel cost and fuel storage requirements, and thereby makes an SCR systems feasible for use in mobile emissions control systems.

摘要: A high intensity discharge (HID) strobe lamp assembly including an HID lamp and circuitry arranged to maintain a current flow to the arc gap of the lamp throughout the powered operation of the lamp during strobing emissions as well as non-strobing operation. The lamp assembly thereby avoids problems incident to turn-on of the lamp for strobing emissions in prior lamps, in which long delay times between successive strobe emissions are necessary or high turn-on voltages are needed to flash the lamp. The lamp assembly of the invention avoids the requirement of long relaxation periods between successive strobe events and the need for high voltage conditions for strobing of the lamp, so that the lamp is able to operate in an efficient manner without generating EMI in the MegaHertz-GigaHertz range.

摘要: The invention relates to a method of scribing and separating dice from each other after fabrication in a semiconductor wafer in a manner such that active circuit regions in the dice reside as near to an edge of a die as possible. The wafer is anistropically etched through the active layer and into the substrate through an opening in the mask to form a generally V-shaped channel with the dice then being separated along a vertex of the channel. The dice are then positioned to abut each other in the form of a mosaic.

摘要: A method for continuously processing meat substrates, such as poultry, includes placing a meat substrate in a package sized to contain the meat substrate and a predetermined amount of a marinade. The marinade generally comprises a solute and water, but optionally includes a soluble or insoluble seasoning and other ingredients. Preferably, the marinade also includes a thickening agent, such as modified food starch and xanthan gum, to increase its viscosity to minimize leaking. After the predetermined amount of marinade is added to the package, the package is then sealed. Preferably, the volume of the sealed package is substantially equal to the sum of the volume of the meat substrate and the predetermined amount of marinade. When the marinade includes an insoluble seasoning, it is desirable to add a fraction of the marinade, then place the meat substrate in the package, and then add the remainder of the marinade.

摘要: A method for transporting people and cargo from the surface of the Earth to orbit around the Earth is disclosed. The present invention uses a series of lighter-than-air vehicles to allow for a far safer and less strenuous trip to orbit than using current rocket-based technology. The high altitude atmospheric airship is flown from the ground to the upper atmosphere, where it docks with the buoyant transfer station, and from there, the people and cargo transfer to an orbital airship for the remainder of the trip to orbit. The orbital airship returns to the station for another transfer back to the atmospheric airship for the return back to the surface of Earth.

摘要: An underwater oil well blowout spill containment system includes a folded curtain positioned in a magazine around a deep water well head and blowout preventer (BOP). The magazine is positioned around the well-head and BOP and leaves room for required construction and maintenance. In the event of a blowout, the curtain is drawn upward from the magazine and cinched to contain leaking oil. A hose is connected to a port on the magazine to draw the oil to a tanker on the surface.
