摘要: A method for correcting emission data from Positron Emission Tomography (PET) or SPECT includes generating a plurality of computed tomography (CT) image data, selecting a portion of the CT image data, processing the selected CT data to generate a plurality of attenuation correction (CTAC) factors at the appropriate energy of the emission data, weighting the CTAC factors to generate an emission attenuation correction map wherein the weights are determined based on the axial location and the slice thickness of the CT data and the axial location and the slice thickness of the PET or SPECT data, and utilizing the generated attenuation correction map to generate an attenuation corrected PET image.

摘要: A method is provided for converting values representative of pixel intensities from an input dynamic range to an output dynamic range. The input dynamic range is determined by acquisition circuitry, while the output range is determined by display or output devices or circuitry. A histogram of the input values is generated, and a lower limit value for the useful portion of the input range is identified from the histogram. An upper limit of the useful input range is then identified based on a log-transformed histogram computed from the original histogram, and on a threshold value located based on the lower limit value. Conversion of the pixel values is then performed by reference to the lower and upper limit values. The technique facilitates compensation for variations in utilization of the input dynamic range, and appropriately scales the input range utilized to the available output range.

摘要: A write buffer having selective flush is disclosed. The write buffer has address buffers and associated data buffers and comparators. During a "sneak read" operation, the address of the read operation is compared to the address signals stored in each of the address buffers. If a match is found, the read operation is temporarily suspended for only as long as the matched address remains stored in the write buffer. In a further improvement, the overhead associated with each match can be minimized to one write operation for each match before the matched address and data signals are written out of the write buffer.

摘要: A pipelined floating point multiplier is disclosed having the capability of interleaving floating point multiplication with iterative floating point operations (calculations), such as division and square-root taking, by making use of idle stages (pipeline bubbles). This is accomplished with minimal additional circuitry over that required for conventional floating-point multipliers, and does not adversely affect the speed of iterative calculations. Method and apparatus are disclosed.
