    摘要: A liquid crystal display and a fabricating method thereof for improving an aperture ratio are disclosed. A liquid crystal display (LCD) according to the present invention includes a gate line, a data line and a common line on the thin film transistor array substrate, the gate line crossing the data line to define a pixel region; a thin film transistor near the crossing of the gate line and the data line; a common electrode connected to the common line in the pixel region; and a pixel electrode connected to the thin film transistor in the pixel area for forming an in-plane electric field in association with the common electrode during an operation of the LCD, wherein an edge of the pixel electrode overlaps the common line with at least one insulating layer there between, and an edge of the common electrode overlaps the pixel electrode with said at least one insulating layer therebetween.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display and a method for fabricating the same are disclosed, which can yield maximum liquid crystal efficiency from all areas within the pixels by orienting the liquid crystals in a manner that the liquid crystals are twisted by 90° in an area above the electrodes and twisted by 180° in an area in-between the electrodes. The liquid crystal display device includes, a pixel electrode insulated from a counter electrode having a plurality of slits on a first substrate, a second substrate facing into and adhered to the first substrate and having a liquid crystal layer formed therebetween, and an orientation layer formed on each inner surface of the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein one orientation layer is oriented to be twisted by 90° from above the pixel electrode and the other orientation layer is oriented to be twisted by 180° from above the slit.

    摘要: A thin film transistor substrate having a structure in which a thin film transistor array is formed on color filters. In the substrate, a thin film transistor is formed on the color filters. A smoothing layer compensates for step coverage between the color filters and is provided with a recess in which a gate electrode of the thin film transistor is to be formed. Accordingly, step coverage in the gate electrode is eliminated, so that it becomes possible to manufacture a large-dimension panel without a limitation to the thickness and profile of the gate electrode.

    摘要: An FFS mode LCD and a fabrication method thereof are provided. The fabrication method comprises: etching a common electrode material and a gate metal on a board at the same time through a first mask process; forming a gate insulating layer, an active layer and a source/drain metal on the board; forming a channel in a TFT part, forming an opening in the pixel area part by diffraction exposure and exposing a gate pad part through a second mask process; forming a passivation layer substantially on board, and forming a contact hole in TFT part, etching regions in pixel area part and exposing a gate pad and a data pad part through a third mask process; and forming a pixel electrode on regions of the TFT, pixel area part and opened regions of the gate pad and data pad part through a fourth mask process.
