摘要: The invention provides an electronic device including an anode and a cathode, between which there are at least two organic phototransducing units where the units are separated by an intermediate connecting region which comprises in sequence: an organic p-type layer, an intermediate layer in direct contact with the organic p-type layer and including a compound that has a LUMO more negative than −3.0 eV and is different from the organic compound in the organic p-type layer, and an n-type doped organic layer in direct contact with the intermediate layer and including an electron transport material as a host and an organic n-dopant with a HOMO less negative than −4.5 eV. In one embodiment, the electronic device is a tandem OLED.

摘要: A method of making an electroluminescent device having a substrate, and at least one blue light emitting layer and at least one non-emissive layer containing an emissive material that emits light longer in wavelength than blue light, these two layers being directly separated by and in direct contact with a non-emissive buffer layer; and heating the electroluminescent device after fabrication to cause the long wavelength emissive material to diffuse from the non-emissive layer into at least the buffer layer such that the long wavelength emissive material comes into contact with the blue light-emitting layer such that the recombination energy in the emitting layer is preferentially transferred to the diffused emissive material compared to the blue emissive material and the light emitted is longer in wavelength than blue light.

摘要: The invention provides an OLED device comprising, in the following order, a anode, a hole transporting layer (HTL), a light-emitting layer (LEL) comprising a host molecule and a light-emitting molecule, an electron transporting layer (ETL) and an cathode and wherein:(i) the HTL comprises a hole transporting material (HTM) having an oxidation potential that is at least 0.2 V less positive than the oxidation potential of the predominant material in the ETL and does not contain any bonds having an energy less than 105 kcal/mol; and(ii) the ETL comprises an electron transporting material (ETM) having a reduction potential (RPetm) relative to the reduction potential of the predominant material in the HTL (RPhtm) that meets the requirement of RPetm>(RPhtl−0.05).Devices of the invention provide improvement in features including efficiency.

摘要: An OLED device comprises a cathode, an anode, and a light-emitting layer therebetween, and additionally comprises a layer between the cathode and the light-emitting layer including a compound comprising one and only one anthracene nucleus bearing no more than two phenanthroline-containing substituents wherein said anthracene nucleus is substituted in the 2-, 3-, 6-, or 7-position with a phenanthroline-containing substituent. When such materials are included in a layer, such as an electron-transporting layer, that provide both desirable electroluminescent properties as well as good device stability.
