Abstract: In a tensioner, a friction brake locks the advancement of a tension rod by a friction force provided and a tension rod advances from a casing by the pressurizing of the compression spring to maintain a belt, chain or the like in a suitable tension state. A coil portion is outwardly inserted through the tension rod in a closely contacted state and one end of the coil portion is latched to the casing, while another end forms a friction brake which is an operation end to cause an enlargement or the shrinkage of the diameter of the coil portion, by which the advancement and the removal of the tension rod is performed.

Abstract: A clamp includes a metal band body. The band body has separated both ends. The ring-shaped band body includes an outer lap portion, an inner lap portion, and an intermediate portion located between the inner and outer lap portions. A retaining hole is formed in the outer lap portion, and a hook is formed on the inner lap portion. The hook includes a sliding surface for allowing sliding of the outer lap portion when the outer and inner lap portions are relatively moved in a direction for reducing the diameter of the band body, and a hook edge hooked by an edge of the retaining hole against a force for increasing the diameter of the band body. A first projection is formed at the end of the outer lap portion to hook the distal end of a first arm of a crimping tool. Abstract: A tension providing device is adapted to change a rotation force due to a spring torque of a shaft to a pushing force in the direction of an axial line of a piston. At one end of the above shaft, a split groove is formed, and at a position corresponds to an axial center of the shaft attached to a lid of a casing body which forms an outer shell of said device, a penetrated hole having an appropriate size and shape is provided. Abstract: A roller shade comprising a spring-loaded retractor, a screen sheet having a trailing edge connected to the retractor, and a rod member attached to a leading edge of the screen sheet. The two ends of the rod member are guided by a pair of guide rails so that the rod member may be moved toward and away from the retractor by using a power drive unit in such a manner that the screen sheet may be paid out from the retractor and extended against the spring force acting on the retractor, and retracted or wound around the retractor, as desired. The rod member incorporates therein a telescopic structure which allows its length to be varied according to the change in the distance between the guide rails as the rod member is moved toward and away from the retractor.
