摘要： A tensioner comprises shaft members that mate with each other by way of thread portions. A first shaft member is rotatable with respect to a casing and is restrained from moving in its axial direction. A second shaft member, which is restrained from rotating with respect to the casing, is movable in its axial direction. A torsion spring applies torque in a first direction to the first shaft member. A torque switching member, which can switch frictional torque in association with the rotation of the first shaft member, is provided between the first shaft member and the casing.

摘要： A chain tensioner includes a cylindrical cylinder having a closed end, a plunger slidably mounted in the cylinder, and a return spring biasing the plunger. The cylinder is formed with an oil supply passage through which hydraulic oil is introduced into a pressure chamber defined by the plunger and the cylinder. The oil supply passage has an orifice at its end portion facing the pressure chamber. A leak gap is defined between sliding surfaces of the plunger and the cylinder. A damper force is produced by viscous resistance of hydraulic oil flowing from the pressure chamber through the leak gap, and by viscous resistance of hydraulic oil flowing from the pressure chamber into the oil supply passage through the orifice.

摘要： A chain tensioner includes a cylinder having a closed end, a plunger axially slidably inserted in the cylinder and having an internal thread on the inner periphery thereof, a return spring biasing the plunger in the protruding direction from the cylinder, and a screw rod having an external thread that is in threaded engagement with the internal thread of the plunger. The portion of the screw rod protruding from the plunger abuts a rod seat provided in the cylinder. The external thread of the screw rod is formed by rolling. The screw rod has an intermediate portion protruding from the plunger and having an outer diameter smaller than the diameter of the root of the external thread. A contact surface contact surface of the screw rod to be brought into contact with the rod seat is formed on the axial end face of the intermediate portion by forging. The internal thread may be formed by pressing, and a pressed recess may be formed on the outer circumference of the plunger, corresponding to the internal thread.

摘要： A chain tensioner including a housing having a cylinder chamber, a rod member in the form of a threaded shaft inserted in the cylinder chamber for tensioning a chain, a tension adjusting spring for biasing the rod member outwardly of the housing, a hydraulic damper for damping axial dynamic load applied to the rod member from the chain by utilizing as a damping medium a hydraulic oil supplied into a closed end of the cylinder chamber through an oil supply passage formed in the housing and a check valve, and a thread engagement arrangement for preventing the rod member from retracting under an axial static load applied to the rod member. The chain tensioner can prevent the entry of air in the pressure chamber of the hydraulic damper when the engine is started in a cold environment or restarted.

摘要： A tension providing device is adapted to change a rotation force due to a spring torque of a shaft to a pushing force in the direction of an axial line of a piston. At one end of the above shaft, a split groove is formed, and at a position corresponds to an axial center of the shaft attached to a lid of a casing body which forms an outer shell of said device, a penetrated hole having an appropriate size and shape is provided. The rotation of the shaft is locked or unlocked by a stopper member latched with said split groove and said penetrated hole removably. Further, said locking mechanism is adapted to perform winding the spring and pulling back the piston into the device by the rotation of the shaft through the penetrated hole of said lid without removing the lid of the casing using an appropriate tool.

摘要： A chain tensioning device in which a plunger axially movable in a cylinder carries a chain engaging head and is biased outward of the cylinder cavity by a compression spring. One of two guide elements engaging each other for threaded movement substantially about the cylinder axis is secured to the plunger while the other guide element is fixedly fastened to one part of a unidirectional ratchet coupling, the other coupling part being fastened to the cylinder. The engaged coupling permits the plunger and chain engaging head to move outward of the cylinder cavity while preventing movement of the plunger toward a retracted position. An operating shaft is accessible outside the cavity for manual disengagement of the ratchet coupling and rotation of the second guide element to move the plunger into its retracted position against the compression spring. A manually releasable locking device locks the plunger in the retracted position.

A rod member has its rear end inserted in the cylinder chamber for pressing a chain. A tension adjusting spring biases the rod member outwardly of the housing. The chain tensioner further includes a hydraulic damper for damping a dynamic load applied to the rod member from the chain, and a thread engagement mechanism for preventing the rod member from retracting under a static load applied to the rod member.

By this, an approximately whole length of the female screw member is able to slide through the bearing hole, and the stroke length of the female member can be secured sufficiently even if the size of the device in a tension controlling direction is shortened.
