Abstract: A microneedle balloon catheter includes a balloon fluidically coupled to a first fluidic channel and microneedles fluidically coupled to a second fluidic channel. The microneedles are on an exterior surface of the balloon. The catheter also includes a guiding sheath. In a first position of the microneedle balloon catheter the balloon, the microneedles, and a portion of the first and second fluidic channels are housed within the guiding sheath. In a second position of the microneedle balloon catheter the balloon and the microneedles are arranged outside of the guiding sheath. The first and second fluidic channels are fluidically isolated from each other.

Abstract: A system for controlling at least one device includes a pair of glasses having a glasses frame. A plurality of magnetic sensors, a processor coupled to the plurality of magnetic sensors, and a wireless communication transmitter coupled to the processor are arranged on or in the glasses frame. A plurality of magnetic skins tags are arranged on a human face. The plurality of magnetic sensors sense movement of at least one of the plurality of magnetic skin tags and transmit a signal corresponding to the sensed movement to the processor. The processor, responsive to receipt of the signal corresponding to the sensed movement, transmits a signal for controlling the at least one device via the wireless communication transmitter to a processor of a power-driven mobility device.

Abstract: A super-flexible and super-stretchable magnetic skin includes a silicone-based elastomeric matrix and a magnetic powder that generates a magnetic field. The magnetic powder is distributed through an entire volume of the silicone-based elastomeric matrix, and the super-flexible and super-stretchable magnetic skin has a Young modulus of less than 1 MPa and a yield strain greater than 200%.

Abstract: A mechanical frequency upconverter includes a body having a cavity. A low-frequency membrane is coupled to the body and arranged adjacent to the cavity. The low-frequency membrane is a permanent magnet or a permanent magnet is affixed to the low-frequency membrane. A high-frequency membrane is coupled to the body and arranged adjacent to the cavity. The high-frequency membrane includes a magnetic metal. Oscillation of the low-frequency membrane at a first frequency causes the high-frequency membrane to oscillate at a second frequency, which is higher than the first frequency.

Abstract: Nanoneedles and nanoneedle arrays and methods of making nanoneedles are provided. The methods can include multilayer fabrication methods using a negative photoresist and/or a positive photoresist. The nanoneedle arrays include one or more nanoneedles attached to a surface of a substrate. The nanoneedle can have both a proximal opening and a distal opening, and an inner passageway connecting the proximal opening and the distal opening. The nanoneedle can have a functional coating. The nanoneedle can include iron, cobalt, nickel, gold, and oxides and alloys thereof. The nanoneedle arrays can be used for the administration and/or the extraction of agents from individual cells. In one or more aspects, the nanoneedles can be magnetic nanoneedles. An oscillating magnetic field applied to a magnetic nanoneedle can induce one or both of heating and vibration of the magnetic nanoneedle. The heating and/or vibration can cause a magnetic nanoneedle to penetrate the wall of a cell.
